With football back, I find myself in front/around the TV more. I figured that I'd start a new thread for the new season- new shows, new seasons of existing shows- hits and misses, recommendations etc. You get the picture.

There was a show being advertised on the WB network that I knew would be right up my alley and tonite it debuted.

SUPERNATURAL. It was excellent. The older brother character is a total cliche but the premise seems like it will allow for many a good episode. Bottom line: two boys search the country for their pop, who is a self appointed hunter of all things that go bump in the night: Ghosts, werewolves, weeping women etc. Their mom was killed by something 'supernatural' and this set pop off on his quest. These kids are accustomed to all sorts of paranormal phenomenon and well, I think you get it..

Tonite's debut is on again on Thursday at 9 and I think some of you may enjoy it. Well done and this 1st episode was creepy. My Power alley for sure. Good "look" to the show and the effects were cool if not entirely original (The ghost hitchhiker is done EXACTLY like the girl in "The Ring" with that skipping, sketchy static effect).

I think Ruben got the shaft on 'The Biggest Loser'.

Good to see Family Guy hasn't lost a step. Marco Polo with Hellen Keller. Nice.

Wasn't impressed with the O.C. season premier.

I think Curb Your Enthusiasm returns in two weeks.

I still laugh at that Mugsey Bouges episode.

The one with the rapper is the best one ever I think.

There seems to be a lot of these Supernatural type shows this season.

I just started picking up LOST in reruns and will probably watch the new season.

Not sure I'm gonna watch Invasion yet because it's on the same night as LOST. 2 hours in front of the tube for anything other than football can be too much in one night.

I will just state, for the record, that Battlestar Galactica is getting better with every episode. They recently did a "get to know some of the characters" episode. If you're a mega-nerd or a lesbian, then I would point out that Lucy Lawless recently joined the show.

They've really found a way to do a sci-fi show that has more drama than Law and Order, and the show isn't done in a cheesy way like a lot of sci-fi shows are. If you're at all into drama, this is a good show to check out. The only thing that sucks about it is that it's on on Sci-Fi Channel (which I don't get) at like 10pm on a Friday night. I think I was 13 and grounded the last time I was home watching TV at that hour on a Friday night.

I tend to shy away from the WB, with the exception of catching Smallville from time to time. But I'll give Supernatural a shot. ABC is offering a show called Night Stalker which looks similar. All the new comedies on CBS look terrible, including the one with Doogie Howser. Fox's new sitcom, the War At Home wasn't bad.

I'm hooked on Battlestar and go the Tivo route.

Uber, I didn't notice Xena, but after you said something I started going through my head and figured it out. I think I missed an episode, though.

2 weeks ago it didn't, and the last thing I saw was the dude getting shot on the planet while they were searching for Earth. I came back and watched this last one on the documentary and think I had to have missed something.

Despite the obvious vilification by our good and kindly friends, I don't think you missed anything f-dallas. The most recent episode was the one with the documentary. The one before was when Adama went down to Kobol and they found the tomb of Apollo (and that's where one of Tom Zarek's henchmen got shot
while Boomer was pointing the gun at Adama).

Battlestar: I BT'd the last season. I watched the British version which was in widescreen. Sucks having to watch it in front of the pc.

Lost: It's a freaking c0cktease of a show. GRR.
