Yeah...not buying it. It just doesn't make a lick of sense. Would you kill yourself along with your bother so he wouldn't have to "die alone" if you could save the entire city, save himself, and potentially save Peter by shooting him?

It's just not a choice that makes any sense.

You could be right and they could both be dead, but that would be a storyline that ended with huge plot holes.

After thinking, I think f-d is right about the "exploding" part of this. I think it is just shock waves/nuke power coming from the person, but not destroying them. I bet they'll bring Peter back halfway through next year to pick things up a bit.

f-d, the bullet could come out, easily, and then you have the same problem over again. That makes perfect sense.

Also, I think it's very possible that Peter's brother THOUGHT Peter was going to die in the blast and he was sacrificing himself (and Peter, who was already a goner in his mind) to save the city.

The only people who know Peter could blow up and survive the blast are Hiro, Ando, and the audience.

That makes perfect sense.

I agree about the bullet part, but the choice was stupid.

Basically his options were:

- Let Peter blow and everybody in "The City" (sigh) dies.

- Shoot Peter in the head, stop the blast, and give them a chance to bring him back and teach him to control the power. if it fails, shoot him again and bury him with the bullet in his head.

- Fly him to outer space, killing Peter and himself "for sure" in his mind.

I just don't understand how anyone in any circumstance could choose anything but #2, I guess.

Yeah, in this scenario, the bad guys dig him up and take the bullet out (that's what would happen in a comic book)

Then burn him!

That does raise an interesting question, though.

Peter and the cheerleader are both invincible with an achilles head. When they get something in the soft spot they die, but when it's removed they come back.

However, how long can they be dead before they stay dead? I mean, can they regenerate if they are embalmed, rotted corpses?

The Lost season finale was probably the best season finale I've ever seen for a TV show.

The biggest indictment of "Lost" is that I am able to follow the show for the most part by watching baseball upstairs and following Fantasy Baseball on my computer while my fiance watches it downstairs and I just happen to catch a few minutes each time I have to go downstairs and get a beer. That plus I watched a little of that Producers recap show last night. I can all but hop on board next year and be up to date.

So the measure of a show is how confused you are by what's going on if you didn't catch bits and pieces along with the producer's recap?

I agree that the finale was exceptional. I was very impressed with how they ended the season. They can go in many directions next year with all of the unanswered questions but at the same time they answered a lot of questions from the first 3 seasons.
