It all starts tonight. I'm not much for season predictions, but figured I'd set up a thread to talk about our respective favorite schools/rivalries. Any local stuff welcome as well.

Pretty solid. Ranked #15 in I-AA. Lots of guys back except......QB. 3 young guys fought for the job. If they get steady play there they could be a NC contender. If not teams are gonna stack HARD against the run and it could get ugly. They are actually 2 point FAVORITES at Duke on Saturday. Of course, Central Bucks West might be favored at Duke. Anyway, as long as they beat Delaware, I am thrilled.

My Mountaineers will be undefeated this year if they can get by Louisville (should be a great game), but the rest of their schedule is so easy they better be the only undefeated team in the country if they want a shot at the chamionship. I also think either pat white or steve slaton has an OUTSIDE shot at the Heisman...

Nice start to the CFB season last night---BC vs Central Michigan--seems like a joke, but I was impressed w/ C. Mich. If it weren't for a couple of bonehead decisions by the coach, they would have had a shot to win.
South Carolina vs. Miss State---S.C. starting 10 new guys on D, including 5 true freshman really looked impressive. If the 'Ole ball coach can get his O running, they might give some SEC teams some fits this year. Miss State--nice freshman RB named Dixon could turn out to be a decent back, but his O line is just plain awful--I wouldn't be shocked to see them loose all of the SEC games this season.
Temple vs. Buffalo was the worst college game I have ever watched. 3-3 going into OT, Buffalo wins it to claim the title as the second worst program in college football.
A couple of good matchups this weekend (besides PSU--btw/ I would take Akron with the points if I were a betting man): Cal vs. Tennessee--Should be a good game--I actually think Cal comes out with a win. Ga. Tech vs. Notre Dame--lots of hype, I think the Irish win big. FSU vs. Miami---this will be a decent game, but Miami's starting RB and WR are suspended. Right now Miami is a 3 1/2 point favorite, I would be all over FSU in this one as long as the kicker decides to actuall show up.

Seriously, what was the CMU coach thinking with that 4th-and-8 right before the half? I was hoping for the Chippewas (damn cool nickname, BTW) to pull that one off vs. BC, whom I find it extremely difficult to root for.
Did anyone else stay up for UTEP/San Diego State, or am I the only geek?

I didn't catch the San Diego State game, I fell asleeep but was planning on watching it.
Yeah, that 4th down call was the terrible--esp considering the fact that it was in the first half and the game was close at that point.
Wouldn't it be great to see the ohio state get knocked off by Northern Illinois? I know it would be beyond a long shot, but you have to think that they are already looking ahead to the Texas game next week.

Nova- I'm on the fence whether I'd rather see that, or Notre Dame knocked off by Ga. Tech, looking ahead to your boys next Saturday.

42-10, mountaineers roll! I still think Slaton has an outside shot at the heisman and today helped his cause, 204 yrds and 2 td's.

Id LOVE for Notre Dame to win a game on their own, without help from the Refs.
Brutal. Game's not over, but MY GOD! When GA TECH got up on em, WOW! Here come the B.S Flags.
Typical.

Gotta LUV the anti-domer hate. It's the "IN THING" to do.
NO DOUBT, Pitt, ... excuse me, Pittsburgh, will be a team to be reckoned with, looking at the schedule ahead; Cincinnati, Michigan St., The Citadel, Toledo, Syracuse, Central Florida, Rutgers, South Florida, Connecticut, West Virginia and Louisville.
(Now I know if I were a potential college recruit I'd be chompin' at the bit to come to this program and play in this powerhouse schedule.)
Gotta deal for ya', ... You keep count of the National Championships Pitt wins under Wandstat in the forthcoming years and I'll to track Weis's. (Maybe not this year, ... but they're coming.)
McNabb & Seth throw water bottles at the refs from the stands.

ND is overrated.
The "high powered" offense looked pedestrian and the nicest thing anyone could say about their D is "wow, that safety sure is a good boxer".
I think they are a "nice" team, but not a great team. Samaaarioeiuodijiziiaa seemed lost out there, maybe he is waiting to get called up by the Cubs...
Seriously though, the PSU/ND game next weekend will be closer than I originally thought (I've been saying all offseason that ND spanks my 'Nits) but I think that ND will still exploit a young PSU secondary and win in a close game--should be fun to watch.
As far as Nat'l Championships? No way ND even finishes in the top 5 this year.
BTW, how nice was is to see the Ohio state's "second coming of the steel curtain" defense let a midget run all over them for about a buck fifty? They are overrated and will get schooled by UT next weekend.

Luv dem Happy Valley Boyz though Joe Pa did not look happy on the sidelines yesterday!
Down here in the Capital of South Cackalackie everybody loves Cocks! As in GameCocks! This team has a following that borders on religous fanatacism. Interesting to watch with some "catchy" offensive nick names such as "Cock and Fire" Gonna be a good one when the Bulldogs come to town next week. Where else can you find some many ways to say Cock! It's sick....
To clarify this is one of the most conservative States in the Union... Not too many "ball handlers" around here!

Usually the 'in' thing refers to a recent trend or fad.
Ive hated those frauds since I was a kid.
I see you wisely went the deflectionary route and instead of addressing the cupcake treatment they receive(d) from refs, you go for Pitt's schedule. Fair nuff.
F ND.

WVU will be tough, no question... Louisville's O is tough, but I wouldnt just write it up as an "L" for Pitt- who gets em at home too. Pitt's D is improved and has more speed.
We shall see.
