"F WVU.
Pitt will need to be reckoned with. That D is tight and F Quinn, Palko anyday.
Cannot wait til the 2nd to last wk of the season when Pitt SPANKS WVU. "
Seth, I usually (almost always) agree with your football knowledge / predictions.
In this case however, you are all homered up, and for that, you are forgiven.

WVU will be a huge test- but its at Pitt, and essentially with the schedule as it is- Pitt gets another what, 8 warm up games ?
Pitts D is VERY underrated and I look fwd to this yrs Backyard Brawl like none in recent memory.

It was a shame to see Michael Bush break his leg last night. He was on pace for a 300 yard, 6 TD game--also, sure-fire 1st round pick. Louisville will miss him this season.
Can't wait for FSU/Miami tonight.

I see you wisely went the deflectionary route and instead of addressing the cupcake treatment they receive(d) from refs, you go for Pitt's schedule. Fair nuff.
F ND.
Seth, what do you want me to say? Here, you wanna cite the suspect officiating? Fine, … opening drive, ND into GA-Tech territory, inside screen executed for a substantial gain. Holding penalty called on the Irish WR. (Clearly, as noted by B. Musburger, was a questionable call.) Instead of having momentum and the ball DEEP in Tech territory, the drive imminently stalls.) You and I both know that had the Irish scored on the opening drive the contest would not have been as close as it ended. Point: Officiating generally sucks, … holding and other infractions could be called on every play, but it all washes out in the end.
Lets set the record straight.
1.) Yes, I think the Irish are ranked too high. Are they deserving of a # 2 spot? Nope. They’re a good football team, but not a great team. Peeps wanna call ‘em overrated, … fine, a matter of semantics. Coaches make the polls and rankings, fan’s hype create “ratings”.
2.) Is Brady Quinn the next coming of Joe Montana? C’mon. I hate this comparison more than I hate the #2 team ranking. Give the friggin kid a break. A fourth year starter that spent more time on the ground in his first two years than on his feet. The two things you have to admire about the kid are his toughness and his perseverance. Again, … cut the kid a break. He’s deserving of some recognition. BTW, early in the Ga-Tech game, his offensive coordinator was hanging him out to dry. Every play the Tech defense was bringing the house, the ND offensive line was in chaos, yet they continued to call 20 to 30 yard passing routes. It wasn’t until they began to call short routes and get the TE involved in the offense that Quinn was able to find some time, settle in and begin to move the chains.
3.) Schools you SHOULD be hatin’ more than the Dallas Cowboys AND ND; How about the teams that left the Big East for the ACC and abandoned Pitt? Yea’, I’ll criticize Pitt’s cupcake schedule but the brunt of the criticism SHOULD go to those teams that left a big void in Pitt’s schedule. (Oh you can also lump old PSU in that category. PSU athletic department SUCKS. You wanna have PSU on your schedule? Sure they’ll play you if you agree to play two games at Happy Valley for every one game on your turf. SAD.)
Oh, ... you're a pro football homer too. Guilty, ... BIG GUILTY.

a) College is a diferent animal- its FUN to hate schools/programs so dont take my "F ND'S" to heart, Dean. I hate PSU too.
b)NOT a homer at all in the pros, and ya know it. Still have big issues with their LB squad, more than I did since we last spoke. I just refuse to allow the WIP mentality to take control over a rational mind and what id consider pretty solid football knowledge. The sky isnt always falling.
c) Yes, it was a shame to see Bush bust his leg last nite. However, suddenly i am far less skeptical about Pitts chances of goin 0-3 to end the season GGB.

Great weekend for college football.
ND-PSU
Ohio State-Texas
Central Michigan- UM (?)
I think these are both close games. I would take Central Mich with the points, but Michigan should easily have a two touchdown win.
Can't wait.

Well, that's "Strength of Schedule to Date". I don't think that is real relevant at this point. However, it still makes no sense that they are #3. Arkansas' SOS to date isn't a little tougher?

Not sure how you can call the guy a fraud. His team was overmatched.
I was wondering how someone could stop themselves from laughing in Charlie Weis' face when he told them that they had to get in better shape.
Man, is he one fat fuck or what?

oh it's your other friggin chin.
What an A-hole Charlie Weis is. He's up by 37 points in the 4th quarter and he's going for it on 4th and 1 while he's in field goal range. No class tub of shit.

And for NEAG- I "KNOW" Paterno's no fraud, i just like to spout off as a fan and get caught up in the rivalries and hatin of other teams where my college interests are concerned.
Less objective by a wide margain when college is concerned.

Whaaa Whaaa, the highly heralded PSU linebacker corps couldn’t stop ND on 4th and 1. Whaaa whaaa. FWIW, ND was up by 31 at the time, ... not 37. Hey Snake, howd' you like that fake punt in the 3rd quarter? Yea', ... a thing of beauty, wasn't it? Somebody should convey to JoePa the game is 60 minutes long.
Listen, … being objective here; … Recall a week ago when a ND 14-10 win at Georgia Tech wasn’t convincing enough for the pollsters resulting in a drop in the rankings for ND. It’s become obvious to everyone, Weis included, that when you’re the #4 ranked team playing the #19 ranked team you’re supposed to run up the score and please the pollsters. If you have a beef with running up the score take it to your national sportswriters or “highly regarded head coaches”.
"Pitts D is VERY underrated and I look fwd to this yrs Backyard Brawl like none in recent memory. "
I’ve already circled my calendar and look forward for this year’s Notre Dame – Pitt match-up. Oh wait, … They’re not playing this year? Pitt dropped Notre Dame and replaced them with The Citadel? Ugh, ... Super.

I'm here to take my lumps.
My guys STUNK on saturday, clearly overmatched by a more experienced and talented team.
PSU is not as bad as they looked saturday--they have alot of work to do, but this ass kicking will make them a better team in the long run.
Also, Seth---you are calling Paterno a fraud when your coach has a tremendous track record of LOSING. Wanny and his 'stach could only wish for Paterno's career accomplishments.
