It's early, yet, but last night I went to the Palestra for the first time and saw a great game. Dunphy's first game back to the Palestra, Penn hadn't beaten Temple in four years, etc. Even as a Temple fan, it was one of the coolest sports experiences I've had.

Nothing like your first time. That place is just dripping with history. I wish they still did the A10 tourney there.

Being a Nova fan makes me feel less like a true Philadelphian, but I grew up in the suburbs, so I guess I am.
I wasn't expecting much from the team this year with three players moving on to the NBA and Sumpter coming back from injury, but I'm pretty excited by their last 3 wins, two of which were with Sumpter. Scottie Reynolds has got some stones. Looks like a damn good college player and possibly beyond. I don't think highly of Nardi, but they really need him to shoot well.
In Wright we trust.

Palestra is by far my favorite venue for any sport.
Will be there Saturday night for SJU-Penn
Loads of fun high school/college memories from that place.

It is at Boardwalk HAll in AC this year. Looks as if the A-10 will be a one bid league so the tourney will be win or go home. I wish it was at the Palestra but anything beats playing it in Dayton's home gym or in Cincinnatti.

Spiders are taking that tourney. Not. They may not even be there, don't you have to play your way in?

I think the bottom two get left in the cold. Could be either the SPiders, Duquesne, or the Bonnies

Sadly I think you gotta include Temple in that discussion...

Why the hate for UD Arena? I loved that place. Of course being a Flyer Alum, I may be biased.
Seriously, it is a great place to watch basketball.

Because having a conference tournament in a team's home gym is small time and an obvious disadvantage to every other team.

NEAG, no argument about it being a disadvantage to every other team, but doesn't the A-10 decide where the tournament is held, not UD? Just another example of the NCAA out for the money, since it is probably the largest arena.

I'm a mountaineers fan but love watching Philly b-ball. Loved seeing Pen beat Temple, those kids had to feel good. Kind of wish Dunphy had stayed there...

Slap, yes the A-10 decides. And I give the Dayton people credit, they show up and they watch the games. You get people for Richmond vs Bonnaventure on a Thursday afternoon, whereas in the Spectrum it would be a morgue.
I don't mind playing it in Ohio, I just think it was bogus having it at someone's campus gym. Now playing it in U of C's gym was fine with me.

Looks like:
1. She was asking for it.
2. He took a zwipe at the pom poms, not the girl.
3. I have no problems with it.
4. I have no rooting interest or bias in college basketball.
