hey, i got that Phylicia Allen album. no really, i do. it was when i first started DJ'ing in 1977, and there was a big song off that album that was real popular in the clubs, i think it was called, " star of Paris " . like most club songs, it was great one minute, and outdated the next.
she wasnt a doctor, but she did marry one on TV.

Seth,
When played at a high level, Rugby is great. Played loose head prop for 4 years in college and loved every minute of it. Of all the teams we played, by far the dirtiest team was the Naval Academy. They were very good, but cheap. The only game in 4 years with multiple brawls. Great part about rugby is, you leave it on the field. Once the game was over, time to drink beer and no hard feelings.

"This thing's chocked so full of 'evil stereotypes' that its just beggin to be dissected- and 'evil stereotypes' may need to start being looked at as actual FACTS and CAUSES as to why this kinda thing- or violent crime amongst the young in the AA Community as a whole, continues and continues to increase."
OK, I'll bite. How exactly is this a story full of stereotypes? This story is horrendous, but one that could happen and has happened in white communities as well. I don't see how it represents the AA community specifically.

From what (admittedly little) I have heard, Rugby parties are f'ing disgusting. I have been to one and it was pretty damn lewd with wives and girlfriends sitting around listening to them, and I have HEARD but not seen stories of guys drinking beer out of other guys' asses and that sort of stuff.
GGB is OUT for that.

GGB,
Yeah, I heard of those as well. Never seen or been to those types. Our after parties were not to different than a regular college party. We did always have a big BBQ and many non Rugby people. Some teams did want to sing some drinking songs(as is a tradition in Rugby), but only when the other team wanted to.

Man Convicted of Leaving Child to Be Eaten by Alligators
MIAMI — A man who had been released from prison early for good behavior was convicted Tuesday of trying to kill a young mother and leaving her 5-year-old daughter to be eaten alive by alligators in the Everglades.
Harrel Franklin Braddy had befriended Shandelle Maycock and her daughter Quatisha. Maycock testified that Braddy went to her home in November 1998 and grew enraged when she asked him to leave.
He choked Maycock until she was unconscious and then forced her and Quatisha into his car, the woman testified. At one point, Maycock gained consciousness, grabbed the child and jumped out of the moving vehicle.
Braddy stopped, choked the woman again and put her in the trunk, she testified. Maycock never saw her daughter again. Prosecutors said Braddy then drove to a section of Interstate 75 in the Everglades known as Alligator Alley and dropped Quatisha in the water beside the road.
She was alive when alligators bit her on the head and stomach, a medical examiner said.
Authorities found the girl's body two days later, her left arm missing and her skull crushed, prosecutors said. Maycock woke up bleeding and disoriented in a cane field miles from her Miami-Dade County home.Braddy had served 13 years of a 30-year prison sentence for attempted murder before being released early for good behavior.
The trial had been delayed for nearly nine years because Braddy has fired several attorneys and represented himself at one point. His attorney, G.P. Della Feram, declined to comment.
A dozen law enforcement officers stood guard, aware that Braddy has escaped from the courthouse before. He fled after trying to strangle a Miami-Dade corrections officer in 1984.
Braddy was convicted of seven counts including first-degree murder, attempted murder, kidnapping, burglary and escape. He faces the death penalty.

Seth, the city is predominately black in population and why wouldn't a parent be astonished, regardless of race, by these kind of allegation against her son?

Doesn't matter, Miami is majority white as well, by a much larger margin. I stand corrected.

Fact is, majority of the crime in Philly is committed in areas where the over whelming population is black. Maybe it's a bunch of kids from the suburbs who go down there and boost the crime rates, or maybe there is a serious social problem within the AA community in these cities. I'm not trying to be mean or be a (FB) to just stir things up, but damn ya'll. This is not a brush to all AA's, but I think link between to many "baby dadies" and not enough parents is brushed off to quickly. Too many kids left to grow up on there own with no direction other than Fiddy or Russel Simions. Too many kids who don't have the basic appreciation of like. I want the AA community to succeed. But, to me, it doesn't seem a lot of it want to help itself.

"Lewis said she views Polensek's letter as a death threat against her son because the councilman said "he didn't care which one came first, that he went to jail or the cemetery." She also said he referred to Winston as "dumber than mud," which she considers a racist remark."
Alright, there is no way you can read either of things in that letter.
