Tattoo - I saw that also with the grandmother. Not that anything they say can help really, and I'm sure they're suffering too, but an acknowledgement of some sort would be appropriate. The effects of this go far beyond just the kids he killed. There are people that will need counseling for years. They could put their pain aside for a second to acknowledge the damage their son did, that's all.

As much as people are questioning why the school or the authorities didn't do enough to help this kid's mental status, why isn't anyone questioning what kind of help his parents got for him? The grandmother said he'd always been a little weird. His mother knew it and was concerned by it. Did she do anything? Does anyone wonder WHY he was so cold and weird? They've got to have some information to offer - why are they making the authorities piece all of it together little by little? Why are they making the investigation into his personality depend on Jr. High classmates and some crazy video he made of himself?

If one of my kids were dead because of some gun toting psycho, I'd sure as hell want to know what happened to the guy to turn him into such a lunatic.

Now if you could only post a picture that shows you with a single glove on, sun glasses, jell dripping dread locks and lip syncing "We Are The World" Hell my day would be complete.

BTW, the kid was locked up before. He was an adult now, there was nothing they could do without his consent.

I didn't say an apology, I said an acknowledgement - or at the very least, some information about their psycho son. Yes, they do owe that.

If your son or daughter throws a baseball through someone else's window, do you not at LEAST acknowledge the fact that it was your kid at fault or do you hide in your house because you're afraid of the backlash?

They may not be responsible for his mental illness, but they sure didn't warn anyone of it either. He didn't just turn weird at the age of 23. He was nutty when he was a kid and they were responsible for him THEN. I'm not saying they DIDN'T do anything to help him, I'm ASKING if they did anything. Nobody knows though, because they aren't talking. At the very least, you hire a lawyer or have a family friend talk for you. I'm just saying - people are so quick to point the finger at the authorities or the school, even the Jr. High students who pushed him around when he was a kid. Where are the parents?

Yes, if your kid breaks someone's window, you talk to the owner of the house. This is a bit more extreme, as they lost a son as well, someone that couldn't get help without his own consent. Your presumptions are a bit over the top.

BTW, SZR already asked, but how do you know what they've told anyone? You really don't, you're just assuming based on no info.

He was already placed in a mental hospital when he was younger, mentioned earlier. We don't know what kind of info they gave VT, or anyone else, for that matter.

Right. That's why kids as far back as middle school are coming forward to offer information about him and how he was treated by classmates. Roomates are saying what he was like to live with. His 85 year old great aunt spoke all the way from Korea about what he was like as a child.

I guess all those people are talking because *I* asked the question.
