I agree on the whole 24/7, "Dirty Laundry" media. When Brit gets a hangnail, it will be reported for weeks. Heaven forbid she goes postal, it would receive more media attention then 9/11.

But the PC world that has infected adults and in turn is being passed down to their kids is really painting a bleek picture for the future generations as a whole.

Example from Slaps personal files:

My son was involved with his buddies in a stupid prank (which also happened to be a minor violation of the law and common sense). Police tell us to pick him up. He says he didn't do anything, but was with the guys who did. The investigation did confirm this as well as his buddies who did the prank exonerating him. I told him guilt by association, he didn't leave knowing they were still wrong. One week grounding (complete and total house arrest - no friends, video games, i-pod, internet, tv, etc.). Plus an additional week of hard labor after the grounding. The kids who actually did the crime? One was grounded for the weekend, the others were told by their parents "well boys will be boys." No punishments.

Twice this summer my son called me to pick him up. No questions asked. He left the guys and used his head. Any guess who's kids were still causing trouble? Yup, the ones with no boundaries (parents lawyers, doctors, and teachers). But they are good buddies with their kids.

Kidding aside, there really are astounding developments in medecine, etc, that far outweigh the occasional spat of violence.

To GGB's point- yes, sure, Its easy to spot the advances made with medicine especially, but I'd cite technology as well. I recognize that, not question.

The Britney thing is absurd also. They had extensive coverage on some terrible show that my wife was watching the other day of Britney going phone shopping then driving home. I mean, video right next to her as she drove in a convertible.

She is accused of buying a 9 mm assault rifle for her son several weeks ago at a local gun show, in violation of "straw purchase laws."

A search of the boy's home outside Philadelphia Wednesday turned up a 9 mm rifle with a laser scope and a number of air guns, police said. No ammunition was found for the rifle.

This is regarding the muumuu mom of the kid who was planning the massacre.

To the right, under "other stories" I noted our fair town being referred to as "KILLADELPHIA" with a story on a guy on a bike being killed by a driver for pedalling too slow?.

Super. Can't watch it here, it's a video story, but the headline says "The Streets of Killadelphia".

CNN has gotten so cheesy over the past couple yrs.

I saw that too Seth- I think the bike story is from earlier this year. South Philly driver shoots kid because he doesn't get out of the way fast enough.

"On Saturday July 14, a 14 year old child, Tykeem Law, was murdered while riding his bike on a small city street in South Philadelphia because his presence on a bicycle forced an 18 year old child / driver / gunman to slow. It does not matter if the papers and pundits attribute this murder to Road Rage or to Gun Violence. At least two young lives are lost with Philadelphia’s 220th homicide of 2007. One to a bullet and the other to pulling the trigger."
