Don't know that I've ever started one of these before. Anyone catch the HBO shows over the weekend, season 5 of "Curb" and "Tell Me You Love Me"? Curb was Ok, I laughed out loud a few times but it does seem like it's losing it's Mojo a bit. As for TMYLM, WOW. Lot's O' Skin in this one. Almost a smidge tough to watch at times without "taking a break". Was glad to see the wife from "Mind of the Married Man" get nekkid, big fan but I like her better with the British Accent. Decent show but a couple of the attitudes of the guys involved seem a bit far-fetched, albeit after only one episode. Anyone else, anyone looking forward to any new shows? I haven't seen many previews that have appealed to me, and I don't watch much network TV anyway. Hopefully only about 4-5 months before The Wire Returns.....

I thought Curb was excellent as usual. "That would be like my last name being Jew."

Good stuff, several laugh out lout moments.

It was good, I laughed out loud a number of times also. I guess what I am saying is that it gets predict who/what/when something that happened earlier will repeat itself. My favorite part of the show is when he fights and argues with people though.

How the hell you gonna have another season of Heroes when they already saved the world? Maybe they're gonna save the environment this time, or how about Heroes vs. Aliens? That's what I'm hoping for- Heroes vs. Aliens

They are going to wipe out all the crime-riddled urban areas.

They are going to save Travis Henry from Paternity suites.

Fall TV seems light this year with so many shows starting mid-season.

- Curb, obviously.

- I'm not watching "Tell me you love me". It didn't look like something I'd like at all and one of the stars is "Bizarro Jerry".

- Heroes should be good.

- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is hilarious and started last night. I'm so glad that show is still on the air.

- The normal network shows I watch most of the time: House, Everybody Hates Chris, How I Met your Mother, Prison Break, Criminal Minds.

- The NBC Thursday night lineup...highlights by 30 Rock and The Office.

- Friday night Lights, which is great.

- Weeds and Californication on on HBO right now and Dexter and Brotherhood are starting up after them...all good shows, IMO.

- The only 2 new shows I'm a little interested to see are "Kid Nation" and "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares". Obviously, Kitchen Nightmares will be hilarious. I've been watching the BBC version for years and it's a really, really good show, but his Americanized persona is that of a crazy screaming bastard. I like the BBC Ramsay better, but I'll take the Fox Ramsay screaming "Fucking Donkey!" at the chefs, too.

Kid Nation just looks interesting. They put a bunch of kids from different age groups into a town and let them start up their own society. They elect officials, make laws, cook, wash their clothes, etc. There is supervision on the level of medical attention and to make sure they aren't in physical danger, but they are left alone otherwise. I read an article a couple months ago stating one o the parents was already suing the show. I guess these kids got like $1,500 each for the show and their parents signed their lives away. 5 or 6 of the kids had to be treated for drinking bleach (seriously...how dumb are these kids?).

Weeds and Californication are on Showtime, not HBO.

So someone actually DOES watch "Prison Break". Looks like the 12 spots per hour during football coverage is really paying off for Fox.

Didn't exactly face stiff competition last year and the acting is hilarious.

Hasn't it gone through about 40 different plots since it first went on the air? Talk about "Lost" making it up as they go along.

I find it interesting that Seth makes posts on the internet and asks questions about subjects that can be readily answered...on the internet.

For example, there is this neat website called "Google", if you go there and type in, oh, "heroes season 2 start" and hit return the very first link that pops up has summary information attached that reads like this:

"The Season 2 Start Date! The Heroes season 2, is set to be started on September 24, 2007. Which is a Monday, this is straight from NBC, ..."

Next week we will go over the finer points of "Youtube" and how, no, all is not lost because you missed the first time GGB's favorite little Miss Teen South Carolina answered her brilliant question on Live TV.

Better yet, get a DVR and let it do the heavy TV lifting for you.

You can watch twice as much TV in half the time...greatest invention ever.

Better yet, get a DVR

as long as Seth can hook it up to his 8 track stereophonic Hi-Fi

Agree on "Prison Break"--I am one of about 12 people that actually like the show.

-I too have watched the BBC version of "Kitchen Nightmares" and the Fox version seems much more obnoxious and aggressive. I have that one set to record.

I really want to know when "The Wire" comes back.

January 6th, but for only a 10 episode season. Filming wrapped the morning of September 2nd.

All of this is according to Wiki but I find that site to be increasingly reliable, esp. for pop culture.

South Park returns for another season in two weeks. Can't wait.

(Especially if this season's opener is as good as last season's)

Anybody watching "The War" on PBS this week? I gotta admit, I have been for the last 2 nights and I will until it's conclusion be pretty much glued to the TV, or as much as possible in between the occasinal wail of a 6 week old. Excellent so far, as everything Burns seems to do is, but maybe not quite the emotion and passion of The Civil War, but that could just reflect different times and different wars.

I was really struck last night by some of the industrial output figures during the war, and how the major automobile companies stepped up. Gottat think those guys made big time bank during that period on gov't contracts and that probably fueled a lot of the '50's surge in automobile use and development. But regardless, Ford rolling a freaking B-17 off the line every 63 minutes round the clock is pretty damn impressive. Only slightly less impressive than the fact that in a single day's raid there might be 360 of the f'ers flying and you lose 60 of them.

The air war was absolutely crazy, though the movie Memphis Belle gives a pretty good, albeit somewhat fictionalized account of that also. But the odds those guys faced in just a single day's bombing runs were absurd.

Heroes was good too

Saw the Chuck chick as well ... sa-mokin hot!!!

Thought Heroes was lame though, except for the last 5 minutes (possibly no Ali Larter-influenced opinion).

I am one of those 12. This season so far is pretty good and better than the end of last season.

They are going back to more of Michael figuring stuff out rather than just running. I like how they are continuing the Michael vs. Alex scenario too.

That's why I am watching each night, no TIVO and any other show I want to watch (Read: Heroes only) can be watched online.
