He's not ripping Jaws, he's ripping the show, like we do

Thought at first it said he was ripping Jews.

A companion piece to EAG's thread.

On the one hand he's saying "Jaws is a great football guy" then TWO SECONDS LATER he's like "well they wanted to take football out of the show and make it an issues show instead of football...and they accomplished that."

That's not even a subtle slap. And it's the second time he's slapped Jaws. Jaws needs to come out and fire back, IMO.

Good lord fred, he's saying they're letting Kornheiser bogart the show, which is everyone's complaint about it. The guy doesn't show up, and the execs thought people would love it b/c of of PTI. Everything is not an attack

Theisman was the shittiest, wrongest (that's right!), dumbest guy doing games on any crew over the last several year.

I'm not exaggerating. I don't really hate anyone, but his badness offended me.

I use to work at the Holiday Inn in Tyson’s Corner Va. (1978) and every Monday night Theismann would come in to promote MNF (when they weren't playing) on the big screen in the main ballroom.

He'd bring a couple of Skins cheerleaders with him and try to stir up some attention for the game. A decent crowd would show up on occasion but normally not many people.

I went up to try and talk to him one Monday night and the guy talked and treated me like I was fkn dirt.

After that I let him know I was an Eagles fan and told him I hope the Eagles break his fkn back! Every time I saw him after that I would do the Eagles chant. I would basically try to annoy the shit out him.

Met Sonny Jerguson one time in a bar in DC and he was pretty cool.

Big difference between Sonny and Theismann.

Theismann always acted like he shit golden cuff links at his ass and Sonny was just a cool down to earth drunk.

It really was amazing how wrong Theissman always was.

If there was a play under review, if he thought it would go one way, you could bet the house it would go the other.

I guess it never popped into Joe's mind that the reason they removed him and replaced him with Jaws was because of his personality, not because they wanted to take football out of the show. But I bet it popped into Jaws' mind. But he's too classy to ever say it.

My point? Even a broken clock is wrong twice.

And I'd almost prefer the dulcet fork-and-knife-on-plate offerings of Theissman and Maguire over Kornholio. Actually, if I had to choose between the two, I'd rather chew on broken glass.

Theisman is on my shit list for eternity after he attempted to introduce "Vick Yards" as a stat they calculated one year on Monday night Falcon games.

I seriously wanted to reach through the TV and choke him.

Vick would fumble the ball, run backward while avoiding tacklers, and through an incomplete pass. Since any mortal would have been sacked 20 yards behind the LOS (says Theisman), Vick just attained 20 "Vick Yards" by not getting sacked.

While incompletions could count as "Vick Yards", the ridiculous sacks he would take (strangely) didn't count against his Vick Yards.

He's not exactly in Phil Sims territory by figuring out a 120 receiver nicknamed "Stinkston" was a pussy, though.

My dad(74) had told me a story a long time ago about Jerguson geting run out of Philly because he was caught multiple times with underage girls. I know he wasn't arrested it for, but that was the rumor back in the day about him. Someone one time brought it up on WIP in a quick reference /statement about him to Ray Didinger, and you could tell Ray had heard that, even agreed, but didn't want to get into it. Anyone else ever hear that?

I heard the very same thing with Didinger, IMS, but no mention was made of underage girls. He just said it was known that he was a Playboy.
