Hard to see how a 'near 30-minute beating' and 'guards held their hands over his mouth' didn't contribute to this young man's death. Easier to see how an all-white jury can let the guards walk.

And it's the kind of shit that happens (and used to happen all the time).
Now you understand why some people cheered when O.J. got off- because of shite like this.
This shit makes my blood boil. Died from sickle cell? After they beat him continously for a HALF HOUR? Where's the attempted murder charge, for one. Where's the conviction- especially with a VIDEO of the beating?
Un
Fucking
Believable

Question 1: Were the guards all white? If not, the OJ comparison isn't apt.
Question 2: Isn't there a pretty good chance this world is a better place with that kid dead? The jury may have considered that.

Fred, you should watch the video before passing any judgment.

Third point, did you read this part F_B:
"Both sides agreed that Anderson did not die from the prolonged beating.
''If the cause of death would have been beating, it would have been a different case all together,'' said veteran Miami attorney David S. Markus.
Instead, the prosecution argued that Anderson died of suffocation because the guards held their hands over his mouth while pushing ammonia capsules close to his nose for as long as five minutes. But the medical evidence didn't show a clear case of suffocation and even prosecutors acknowledge there has never been a case of death by ammonia capsules."

This only relates to OJ in that when I said why black people cheered and white people were disgusted. And I said shit like this was why they cheered. But it's also similar in how there is a MOUNTAIN OF EVIDENCE, yet these fuckers walk.

Hip-Hop Artist Rich Boy mentions the death of Martin Lee Anderson in his ending finale track, "Lets get this paper", on his debut album, Rich Boy.
"Martin Lee, Anderson, he ain't even have a chance They beat him in that boot camp 'til he died in that ambulance That boy was only fifteen years old, fuck what they say he did So tell me how I'm 'posed to feel when police kill tha kids?"

One thing that came out of the OJ trial, is that the phrase "All White Jury" should not be looked upon as a bad thing.

True.
And to GGB- yeah I read that, so what?
Just because the prosecution is incompetant, I'm supposed to discount the evidence?
First of all, nobody dies from sickle cell, dickface. RED FLAG
#2. The fact that they would use the stupid "suffocation by smelling salt" theory tells me that something's fishy.
But Zak's right- I'll wait to pass final judgement until I see the tape.

F_B, do you even read the facts of a case before spouting off, or do you just look at the pictures?

I bet John Cougar has walled himself up in the studio with a guitar, pen, paper, carton of cowboy killers, and a black/white photo of Martin Lee Anderson (hopefully not the mug shot).

So you believe he died from "suffocation by smelling salts" Glenn?
Or was it death by sickle cell?
Come on smart guy, answer the question.

To be perfectly honest, I'm waiting for one of these "civil rights" cases to involve a defendant without a criminal record.
I'm a firm believer in second chances, but I also have little remorse when bad things happen to bad people.

F_B, as I posted above, the prosecution even agreed that he did not die from the beating. What else do you want me to answer? His actual cause of death, if both sides agree it was not the beating, is immaterial. To be honest, I can't figure out why they tried them on this charge if they didn't think he died from the beating.

Interesting notes include:
- His mother has had drug problems and related criminal charges.
- Anderson, by age 14, had already been rung up on shoplifting charges and grand theft auto.
- Anderson's family was already awarded $4.8 million from the state of Florida for wrongful death.
So, here's the way you do it:
- Get involved in drugs.
- Be such shitty parents that your kid is stealing cars before he can drive...literally.
- Get him sent to boot camp where he no doubt fights them constantly.
- Collect $4.8 million check for being a shitty parent.
- Claim racism when the people babysitting your shitty kid and thousands of other shitbox kids (because you are a failure as a parent and a drain on society) don't go to prison.
