Portrait Of The Black Male

According to the 2007 National Urban League Equality Index, although many black men are doing well, glaring gaps continue to exist between black men and their white counterparts. These gaps are caused and aggravated, in large measure, by the underperformance of a disproportionate number of black men in a variety of areas and for a variety of reasons.

Because of its devastating and far-reaching ramifications, this underperformance of the black male is the most serious economic and civil rights challenge we face today.

Without an socio-economic solution? Good luck.

http://thegoldvillage.com/

The Bible says “Wine maketh merry, a feast is made for laughter; but money answers all things.” Ecclesiastes 10:19.

Book Excerpts:

Chapter 14 P. 335 African adage: A fool is thirsty in the midst of water. "Thinking objectively one would have to wonder with all the resources that exist in the African American community, why does so many correctable problems exist."

Chapter 7 "Other communities are growing because they are creating some economies in their ethnic villages through small businesses. With this strong economic foundation, not relying on non profit corporate gifts or Federal funds or contracts or corporate contracts, they can expand their power."

This dude wrote a book on the solution.

"Well, this year, my friend's sponsored child is a little boy named "Kwalme", who is 12. "Kwalme" would like a 12 pack of XXL White T-shirts and Size 34 Rocawear jeans. "

A "little" boy (12) wearing size 34 jeans? Either get him a year membership to Weight Watchers or draft him as the Eagles future right tackle.

Yes, I realize you are referring to the big baggy look, but even so. Put down the Ho-Hos and Ding Dongs little buddy.

Slap,
Not sure what tunnel you've been living in, but the 12 years old is just asking for standard issued hoodlum gear. Extra long baggy white t-shirts and pants that have NO chance of staying on at the waist. Good news for him, is in a couple of years his new uniform will be issued from the State of PA.

By the time he's 15/16 tho, the threat of tazin' is about nil. Dems da shootin years.

Instead of ridiculing and saber-rattling 736, did you ever think of trying to help the economically challenged? For instance, what's keeping you from hiring your Mexican neighbors to mow your lawn on the weekends?
I hear they do good work.

A) Even if they were still around, I wouldnt hire them- i have a 13 yr old son who is doin my lawn as well as the entire neighborhoods lawns. WORK ETHIC. He values money he's earned himself and we encourage him to get out and do so, even before he's legally allowed to hold a 'real job'.
Beats stayin home masterin "Madden" and depending on Ma for handouts.

2) I actually do plenty in the way of "giving" but do not 'advertise' it.
Aside from Tithing 10% of my annual income as well as on any bonuses I receive, we have several times donated our church's adoption ministrey which has seen 3 successful international adoptions this yr alone, as well as several missions trips to both Peru and India.

It's not saber rattling to point out the flaws in both the kids request as well as poke fun since his attitude being demonstrated in this thread kinda serves everyone (but your) point out here in the various threads.

The desire to 'thug up' at only 12.
Some role models. Wonder why he's disenfranchised- or at the very least, he doesn't seem to be on a fast track to breaking that trend. How's that?
