A couple of years ago (post-Politically Incorrect, pre-Real Time), he toured with a show called Victory Begins At Home or something like that. I think it eventually became an HBO Special.
I got a free ticket when it was on Broadway, and I enjoyed it, especially the propaganda ads he displayed ("When you ride alone, you ride with bin Laden!") However, everything is so scripted and his delivery sounds unnatural. He's not as bad as Jaws on ESPN, but he's not that great.
At the end, he took questions and answers from the audience. The answers just seemed to be a little too neatly wrapped and cleverly worded, especially the last question that ended the show. Then I turned around and saw his "answer" on a teleprompter at the back of the theater. The whole thing was fake and setup beforehand.
Fuck him.

Yeah, I didn't mean invading country kinda outrage, I meant more ostracized kinda outrage.
China kills lots of people, but if they whacked the Dalai Lama, it could be trouble (sidebar, I don't know if the Dalai Lama lives in China, but it made for a good analogy)
The outrage generated for a person murdered is usually directly proportional to that person's popularity. Kasparov has gained worldwide popularity, unlike others. Murdering Gorbachev would incite similar (and probably more) outrage.
Lastly, Jon Stewart = funny. Bill Maher = self-righteous, condescending, used-to-be-but-rarely-now funny self-purported know it all.

Bill Maher has become to comedy what Boston Legal has become to primetime law drama with dark humor.
Way too preachy, not enough biting wit.

Isn't there an arrest warrant (or the Chinese equivalent) out for the Dalai Lama if he ever goes back into Tibet or China?

I just looked at the map- I always thought Tibet was a small little section, but it's pretty substanstial. No wonder the Chinese don't want to give it up.
For the record, I did my part- I went to the "Free Tibet" concert held by the Beasties down in D.C. That was a cool show except for the lightning strikes inside the stadium.

Good to see that my opinion on Maher is shared by others.
Though it was pretty funny when the protestors interrupted his show a couple months ago. But based on his limited talents, every time I see a picture of him at the Playboy Mansion, I can't help but think that the spot he is taking should be MINE.

YEah. The People for 9/11 Truth or something of that ilk. The funniest part was after they kicked the 1st two people out, the one guest said "Well, Bill, I only got two tickets so you shouldn't have any more problems"
