When they blew up the Vet, Street was on hand for the ceremonies.

He led the countdown for the implosion, and left out the number 1 in the countdown.

"3...2...FIRE! FIRE!"

His campaign holmies picking up / bribing peeps in the lines at Ac-a-mes and the welfare offices to go and cast a vote for him, and scaring off/intimidating others who were clearly going to vote for his opponent.

To add on to what's been said, I really wish Street could have better facilitated the placement of the new baseball stadium in the downtown area. I think it would have been a major revitalization for Philadelphia and its immediate surrounding areas, to be able to hang out (and spend money) before and after the game in the more developed parts of the city would really help hotels, restaurants, bars, and the overall local economy with increased tourism. I love the stadium but it's fkn depressing when you walk out in no-man's land and have to take a long ride to enjoy the city or get back home.

Also, having just displayed my company at a trade show at the Penn. Convention Center, the stranglehold that the unions continue to have over this city is just ridiculous, and the concessions that shows have to make just to come here, if they even want to after dealing with these domineering assholes, is sheer nonsense. You can't lift a finger inside that convention hall without some ignorant blue collar fuckface telling you what you can and can't do. I wasn't sure they'd grant me permission to carry my cup of coffee to my fkn booth, that's how bad it is. This didn't just spring up during the Street administration, but he certainly played along.

I really think Nutter will be the best mayor of my lifetime so far.

I don't think he's revealed anything specific yet, but the contract with the four municipal unions expires in June so he will have to negotiate with them soon. His campaign was not supported much financially by the unions, so he shouldn't be beholden to them for helping him get elected, but we'll see how it goes. I had a "business breakfast" with him and in candid conversation he expressed how frustrated he is with the city wage and business tax, which is in large part caused by the unions, and how it drives away good jobs and young people who graduate from the many colleges in the area. Anyway, that's what he said, whether or not he can pull it off politically is another story.
