I'm feeling this one - not often you see a guy excel at both sports AND music. Didn't totally dig his style, but I dug his skills. Man had some chops on the bass.

Damn. I remember meeting Zezel during his rookie season, he was injured and was out for the game so they had him in the concourse signing autographs. I remember telling him that he would be Rookie of the Year.

That was a young promising team...Zezel, Dave Brown (would've given Brashear a run for his money IMO...hard to fight a leftie), Tocchet, Lindbergh, Boxcar Hospodar,... I was as high on that team as I was on the early Eagles teams of this decade.

44 years old. Man, that sucks.

RICK TOCCHET: “It is a sad day. Obviously, as a former teammate, it is a sad loss. I know he touched a lot of lives. Unfortunately, I had lost touch with Peter the last few years.

Yeah, what with Tocchet being under indictment for bookmaking and all.

I've NEVER seen one ep of Kung Fu. Not one (and the only reason I even knew about it was TNT's somewhat lousy "Kung Fu: The Legend Contines" where DC was running around in bullet time). But even I knew what he did.

Most people nowadays only remember him from 'Kill Bill' (another thing I haven't seen, so I wonder if I'm missing something)

Carradine went the same way I plan to go.

Rumours Carradine died attempting auto-erotic asphyxiation - where victims achieve heightened sexual pleasure by restricting their air supply - are backed up by a quote a Bangkok police officer gave to British newspaper The Sun.

The cop tells reporters, "A rope was attached to his neck and also to his penis".

"The cop tells reporters, "A rope was attached to his neck and also to his penis"."

Reason enough not to ever try it. No matter who you were or what you accomplished in life, that would be the only thing peple will remember.

Jonas Salk (1914-1995) medical reasearcher who cured Polio. Died beating off.

Recommendation noted, flesh. I'll give it a look-see.

And EGADS I can't believe that people actually reach some type of erotic nirvana by choking themselves. What in the world?

"auto-erotic asphyxiation"

I remember the first time I heard this term was many years ago, pre-internet... my mom was watching Oprah and she had a show on the topic. When she used the term and some of the circumstances surrounding it, I initially thought... kids were dying in the back of station wagons when making out and leaving the engine run.

Ahhh... the innocence of youth.

Never in a million years would I have guessed what it really meant.
