"You don't understand. Johnny Fontane never gets that movie. That part is perfect for him. It'll make him a big star. I'm gonna run him out of the movies. And let me tell you why. Johnny Fontane ruined one of Woltz International's most valuable proteges. For three years we had her under contract, singing lessons, dancing lessons, acting lessons. I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars. I was gonna make her a big star. And let me be even more frank, just to show you that I'm not a hard-hearted man, that it's not all dollars and cents. She was beautiful, she was innocent, she was the greatest piece of ass I've ever had, and I've had it all over the world. And then Johnny Fontane comes along with his olive oil voice and guinea charm and she runs off. She threw it all away just to make me look ridiculous. And a man in my position can't afford to be made to look ridiculous. Now you get the hell out of here. And you tell that gumba that if he wants to try any rough stuff that I ain't no band leader. Yeah, I heard that story."

Who's digging up threads, Bass? ENY beat you by 6 minutes and put it in the appropriate thread, not that ridicuolous wrestling one.

Yeah, Bass, to me Captain Lou Albano is Cyndi Lauper's dad in the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" video. I'll cop to watching some pro rasslin' in my teen years, but Captain Lou predates that time...

While not being all THAT interested in Bass and Munch's tweets about current wresting-

Capt'n Lou was one of the best characters in wrestling ever.

That stupid rubband band in his goatee?

Check.

That stupid look on his face, and the stammering stream of conciousness and the raspy voice?

Check.

The comic contrast being his tough guy talk, and fatburger body?

Check.

RIP Cap'n Lou- some of us remember

Yeah, I remember, too.

But I'm an adult now, and that's why I can't comprehend grown men spending their time talking about wrestling. Good gravy! You wrestling enthusiasts (for entertainment purposes only) look like a bunch of nimrods.

Maybe we should start threads about Bugs Bunny, Mad Magazine and the CHS Marching Band

The first two sound good- but I didn't know CHS even had a band- I thought they just had a guy with a bullhorn

"First base...Bugs Bunny! Second base...Bugs Bunny..."

Better question-

Who had the worst cheerleaders?

Of course, Abington had some hot fkn babes.

Cheltenham?

Not so much so

Honestly have no recollection of what Cheltenham's looked like. I'll be at the Thanksgiving Cheltenham-Abington game this year though - part of my 25 yr reunion events. Holy crap I'm old. KB & Fred, you should come.

CHS "marching" band used to just run out on to the field, stand in one spot and play (badly) and run off when done. It was awesome in its horrificness.

The only memory I have of Soupy Sales is that skit where he is writing on the blackboard- and he writes some nonsense, but the first letters in each line spell "F U C K Y O U"

Ok, I screwed that up.

I remember the skit now.

It was something like he was asking someone what he saw on the board...

Soupy would write a big "F" on the blackboard, then ask the other guy what he saw, and the guy would say "I see a K"- write a F and the guy would say "I see K"

Then Soupy says, "How come everytime I see F, you see K?"

That was it
