RIP Dennis Hopper.
I can truthfully say one of my favorite actors of all time.
He had that "kinda crazy" that I grew to love, much like Christopher Walken

Andrew Koppel (Ted Koppel's son) is dead. I think partying in NYC is dangerous for younger celebs.

Younger celebs? Dude was 40. If you haven't figured out how to binge drink safely by 25, you never will.
Now waiting for the "lecture" from Munch about no such thing as safe binging.

The article said he retired from his office two years ago. At 38? The dude obviously had some issues.
Guessing it was either:
1: He was gay.
2: He was on something before drinking.
3: He was looking for someone holding.
4: Something bad happened to him and he wanted to get bombed.
Regardless, there's a certain point when you drink too much that you are going to get sick. If you don't, there's alcohol poisoning involved. Having barhopped in NYC many years during and post college, I know a lot of places will get you a drink or two even if you are drunk, and then cut you off. If he was smashed already, and this other dude was figuring he had his drink ticket for the day, that would explain all the hopping (as in getting kicked out of establishments after a drink or two time and again).
That they didn't eat anything was pretty freekin dumb too. I mean, I could drink Guiness all day without food but that's because it's low on booze and high on calories. But whiskey? I guess there are worse ways of dying.

holding?
Fagel, 40 isn't old. I meant to put "younger" in quotes. Was thinking of Heath Ledger when I read the title of the obit.
It is bizarre to drink all day with someone you don't know. I've definitely over partied in NYC in my days. It got very crazy. As for retiring at 38, maybe he was living off papa's fortune and didn't feel like breakin' a sweat working?

Huh, didn't want to take the Jack Daniels link... can't figure out the codeing issue. Anyway, JD is 190 calories per serving, still higher than Guiness. Still trying to find a beverage with more calories than Guiness.

Pint is 16 oz, vs 12. Guiness is 210 calories per pint. That means Newcastle is about 186 calories per pint (140 *4/3).
Guiness Draught is still the calorie king.
