KB, where did you see the video?

It was on one of the morning news shows yesterday. Very sad, he said things like "If I tell you a story I've told you before, just laugh and pretend you haven't heard it before".

I think it's #1 on my shit list of diseases. My grandfather slowly lost memories of all his children, couldn't remember my aunts' names, thought my mom was a nurse there to help.

He was at my parents' for Thanksgiving (his last) one year, and this is when he couldn't remember my one aunt for a while. He saw me, and first thing he said was "Hey Dom" (always called my by my middle name), then proceeded to talk about the Phillies. The periods of lucid thoughts are really weird

It's less of a scumbag move when you consider that he didn't know he had Alzheimer's. It was a typical Moore interview with "the bad guy"

Assuming he didn't know, it's slightly less of a scumbag move. Still, he lied to him about the timelines. From that we can draw one of two conclusions:

1. He didn't realize the date of the rally was before the date of tragedy he was doing a documentary on AND he didn't know what city that rally took place in.

2. He felt there was a decent chance Heston wouldn't be able to call him on the fact that his timeline was royally fucked.

I don't think Moore is that stupid OR above taking advantage of a situation that might make his movie better (in his eyes).

f-d, that stuff is old news and happens in all his documentaries. I think Moore is an attention-whore who does rearrange facts and and timelines and manipulates everything in his movie. I don't think he's a scumbag that would use someone's Alzheimer's to his benefit.

Looking at the timelines, it would be pretty tough to have Moore know about it beforehand.

The movie was released in October of 2002. Heston didn't publicly announce he had Alzheimer's until August of 2002.

Kb, you know what's weird?

When I lost my grandmother, here memory was totally shot but physically she wasn't in bad shape. After she dies, my grandfather had a stroke- so mentally he was still there, but physically, he couldn't do much and his speech was affected (the one side of his face was all screwed up).

I preferred the way my grandfather went, at least you could still see "the light" in his eyes and talk to him. Alzheimer's is like a zombie disease.

You think more of the guy than I do, I guess.

I'm not even saying he knew Heston was sick. I'm saying he went there with the intention of (at the very least) lying and trying to confuse an old man.

My point is he does that with every interview he does. That's the problem with him, all his interviews with the "bad guy" are sneak attacks littered with innacuracies, the person doesn't have the answer right away b/c they're caught off guard, and they look bad.

In this case, he was going after the head of the NRA, which is a logical person to interview for this movie. The problem is, for whatever reason, the head of the NRA has Alzheimer's and is STILL the head of the NRA.

It was like any of his other interviews.

I think the guys is a dishonest filmmaker. I don't think he's an asshole of that order, though. If that's "thinking more highly of him", ok.

BTW, what was the movie you saw ripping him? I want to Netflix it. I saw him have answers to a lot of problems with it, so I wanted to see if it was addressed.

I still say the beginning of Farenheit 911 with Bush staring into space after his aide tells him that "we are under attack" is hilarious

Not exactly a celeb, but I didn't see this anywhere else and figured I'd put it in here.

John Marzano

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Former major leaguer John Marzano died after falling down a flight of stairs at his home. He was 45.

The exact cause of his death Saturday was not immediately clear, police said.

Marzano was from Philadelphia and had been working for Major League Baseball's Web site, for which he co-hosted a show on weekday mornings.

Before joining MLB's Web site, Marzano was a baseball analyst on Comcast SportsNet for the station's Philadelphia Phillies' postgame shows. He had also appeared regularly on WIP-AM.

A graduate of Temple, Marzano earned a spot as a catcher on the 1984 U.S. Olympic team, which included future major league stars Mark McGwire, Barry Larkin and Will Clark. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 1984 amateur draft.

Marzano played 10 seasons in the big leagues for the Boston Red Sox, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners before retiring in 1998. He also played in the minors for the Phillies and the Cleveland Indians.

Marzano was popular in Seattle for his altercation with New York Yankees outfielder Paul O'Neill during a game in 1996. The two traded punches at home plate after O'Neill took exception to a knockdown pitch by Tim Davis.

Glenn gets the only alphabetical placement exception.

Congrats on being #1 at something Glenn!

RIP Kenneth Keith Kallenbach.

On Thursday, April 24, 2008, it was reported on the Howard Stern show that Kallenbach died of pneumonia while in police custody for a probation violation related to an alleged attempted abduction.
