These tone deaf people who evidently had the vacation time to burn at their respective jobs are all NEAG's.

I was just thinking and doing some math...I wasn't a huge fan of the Monkees or anything, but rerusn were on in the afternoon every day and I remember watching quite a few episodes of The Monkees, Patridge Family, Brady Bunch, etc.
That would be roughly similar to a 10 year old watching Charles in Charge of even Seinfeld now (in terms of how old the programming is).
Is that nutty or what? I know I'm old and everything, but that really makes me feel old.

Any band that was covered by the Sex Pistols is OK in my book. I got promos a while back of the TV show's 1st & 2nd seasons on DVD. Will definitely be watching with the girls when they're a tad older.
Top 35 Monkees songs:
Stepping Stone
Last Train To Clarksville
I'm A Believer
Valerie
Monkees theme

yeah, i hear you. the only way to rationalize it is to remember that when we watched that shite, it still seemed pretty dated even then.
i mean, i was obsessed with the brady bunch but i knew normal kids wore acid washed jeans with a french cuff, not polyester bell bottoms.

Yup...that's exactly what I was thinking. When I watched the Brady Bunch, at age ten, I marveled at how quaint and dated it was. It felt like I was watching the dawn of television and actors long dead.
That's what our youth looks like to 5th graders now.

Conservative blogger/pundit Andrew Breitbart has died after apparently being murdered by someone in the Obama Administration because he "had the goods on them."
Well, that's what I learned on Facebook.

I can't go into the GOP Hopefuls thread because every time B.I. speaks, my brain begins to hurt.
Nevertheless, I think it's awfully disrespectful of you bleedingheart liberals not to give Breitbart his due here. He certainly fashioned himself a star and was desperate for the spotlight.
I think it's funny that Fox News lists his most noteworthy accomplishment as breaking the story that Anthony Weiner tweeted photos of his cock. He also got Shirley Sherrod fired when he edited a video tape to make her sound racist. What a proud legacy.

I was goin to put it in 'your' thread but I feel/felt that most people know who the Doobie Bros are, even if they aren't fans or know the name of their drummer.
Dino- do you consider the episode of What's Happening where re-run bootlegs the Doobie Bro's concert to be a classic episode?

A Doobie obit doesn't deserve to go in either thread unless it's Michael McDonald.
