Herschel Walker reveals multiple personalities
By Associated Press

ATLANTA – Georgia football great Herschel Walker has multiple personalities – a revelation in an upcoming book that surprises the man who coached the 1982 Heisman Trophy winner.

That's all news to me," former Georgia coach Vince Dooley said in Friday editions of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "All I know is whatever personality he had when he had the football was the one I liked."

"Breaking Free" will chronicle Walker's life with multiple personality disorder, according to Shida Carr, a publicist at Simon & Schuster.

Carr said the book will be published in August, but gave no other details and declined to provide excerpts.

In three seasons at Georgia, Walker led the Bulldogs to a 33-3-1 record, three straight Southeastern Conference championships and the 1980 national title. He won the Heisman as a junior, then left school a year early to sign with the now-defunct U.S. Football League.

Walker played for the Dallas Cowboys, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants. He has lived in Dallas since his playing career ended.

A former Georgia teammate also was caught off guard by Walker's revelation.

"I'm probably one of his closest friends and that's news to me," said Frank Ros, who was captain of Georgia's 1980 national championship team. "I knew he was working on a book but I just thought it was about football. He does 100 things at once and always has projects going on, but that blows me away."

The newspaper said Walker could not be reached for comment.

Multiple personality disorder, also known as dissociative identity disorder, is a rare mental condition in which one person has two or more distinct personalities, according to the Merck Manual of Medical Information.

That's on hold, one of the guys that working on it(let me rephrase doing mostly all of the writing I just give'em ideas) is on strike and he's more than a little weird, because he's on stikre he is refusing to even write anything on the scripts or even roughs we've started... he refuses to damage his integrity... which is why when they say it's normal to take forever to get approval for a pilot and that I should worry, hell if he's got integrity it'll never get done. To be honest I'm not really expecting it to happen anymore, but I have met some fun people and a lot of fun and I got somewhat of an idea of how things really get done with it, so who knows...

Why don't you start writing it yourself?

It's ridiculous for this guy to refuse to write anything because he wouldn't be in violation of any union rules by merely writing. As long as he's not trying to sell it, he's fine. Besides, these guys better have some aces in the hole when the strike is settled, or they will remain unemployed.

If I were you, I wouldn't wait for him. I'd start writing it now.

Why do I picture 100 monkeys in a room with 100 typewriters?

Talon I would but I am far from a writer, and to be fair, I think the 100 monkeys just hammering on the keys might be able to put a better script together than I would... I've gotten the story ideas written out for him and he has them but the actual writing of the scrpits is a lot harder than I ever thought, I was fairly creative way back in HS but for some reason I have lost that gift/ability or whatever, I guess it's one of those things you really do have to keep up with to keep your vocab and thought process working together... He's coming iunto town this weekend and we're getting together so we'll see...
