And yet, he gets suspended and disrespected by the local bake squad.
Of course, if the kid was black, all the other kids would be shouting "Rodney King!"

nothing like a little assault and battery, theft, terrorist threats, kinapping and extortion to start the day
Shouldn't this be in the Police Brutality thread?

I swore he was going to say "if I find myself on Youtube". God, that would be hilarious.
The guy clearly lost his mind for a few minutes, but it's a no harm no foul situation.
The kid was a fuckin' wise ass and got his skateboard taken away. Boo fucking hoo.
I'm just waiting to hear what Carcetti has to say about this. They've juked the numbers as much as they can and they still aren't down. Now this?

I can't tell for sure, maybe's it's my eyes- but that car looks like it's 2 feet wide!
Even clown cars are bigger than that

I saw a bunch of cops in Chicago on Segways. I led them on a high speed chase down the Mircale Mile in my Power Wheels

I haven't heard anything more about this. Is it true that this cop got suspended?
If so, what a friggin' pussy society we live in.
If my son ever rolled his eyes at a cop or addressed him as "dude" or "man" I'd expect that cop to put him up against a wall.
The cop got a little heated but I didn't think he crossed the line. This cop didn't appear to be picking on these kids, he was just trying to enforce regulations when the punk decided he didn't want to be bothered and persisted despite several warnings. I think it's pretty telling in the video when the kid says "I don't have a father."
No crap.

yeah, I read he's been suspended while they conduct an investigation and the Police Department seemed pretty pissed at him. I read some quote where they were pretty disheartened about all the hard work they've done to improve their reputation with the citizens and this could undo all that work.

He's suspended with pay.
This was on GMA (I think) the other morning, and you can TELL that the Mom who was interviewed was primin for an inevitable suit.
Said something like "Of course it would have been better had he not 'continued' to call him Dude after the officer made it clear he didn't like it- but the way he handled everything else should terrify every mother out there".
Um, what?

I looked it up and it seems he was suspended with pay.
Johnson, you really don't think he crossed the line of professionalism? In all seriousness, nothing that the kid did warranted that sort of abuse. At least from what the video shows.

No, I don't think the cop crossed the line of professionalism.
What abuse?... he grabbed the kid hard?... he made the kid sit down really hard? He ripped the kid's skateboard away? He yelled at him?
The dumb shit is 14 and should know how to address an officer. He tried to play it cool in front of his friends and it backfired big time.
This litigious society of ours is castrating this country.

I didn't say anything about litigation. I don't think he should be sued or anything.
I just think he acted like a power-tripping asshole when it wasn't really called for.

"This litigious society of ours is castrating this country"
That was in reference to Seth mentioning that this punk's mom is positioning for a lawsuit.
