BTW-
While I'm not much into African politics, "Zimbabwe" is one of the BEST songs ever.
On that, I am looking at the music and not so much the lyrics- I could bump Bob all day as loud as the speakers allow

ok fred, you like non-marley compilation albums?
check out "groove yard". szr turned me on to this so many years ago, and it is seriously one of the best, if the not the best, multi-artist compilation ablums of any genre, let alone reggae.
check it out.

Of course.
No sun will shine- in my day today...
The high yellow moon, won't come out to play...
One of several "ALL TIME" songs on that album

Is it possible for you you give me the first couple artists/songs? I searched for grooveyard and came up with a compilation with about 250 songs

If you wanna live
Treat me good
If you wanna live, live
I beg you treat me good
I'm like a walking razor
Don't you watch my size
I'm dangerous
Said I'm dangerous
(2X)
If you are a bully
Treat me good
If you are a bully, a bully
I beg you treat me good
I'm like a stepping razor
Don't you watch my size
I'm dangerous, dangerous
(CHORUS)

Curly Bill: [takes a bill with Wyatt's signature from a customer and throws it on the faro table] Wyatt Earp, huh? I heard of you.
Ike Clanton: Listen, Mr. Kansas Law Dog. Law don't go around here. Savvy?
Wyatt Earp: I'm retired.
Curly Bill: Good. That's real good.
Ike Clanton: Yeah, that's good, Mr. Law Dog, 'cause law don't go around here.
Wyatt Earp: I heard you the first time.
[flips a card]
Wyatt Earp: Winner to the King, five hundred dollars.
Curly Bill: Shut up, Ike.
Johnny Ringo: [Ringo steps up to Doc] And you must be Doc Holliday.
Doc Holliday: That's the rumor.
Johnny Ringo: You retired too?
Doc Holliday: Not me. I'm in my prime.
Johnny Ringo: Yeah, you look it.
Doc Holliday: And you must be Ringo. Look, darling, Johnny Ringo. The deadliest pistoleer since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darling? Should I hate him?
Kate: You don't even know him.
Doc Holliday: Yes, but there's just something about him. Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... me. No. I'm sure of it, I hate him.
Wyatt Earp: [to Ringo] He's drunk.
Doc Holliday: In vino veritas.
["In wine is truth" meaning: "When I'm drinking, I speak my mind"]
Johnny Ringo: Age quod agis.
["Do what you do" meaning: "Do what you do best"]
Doc Holliday: Credat Judaeus apella, non ego.
["The Jew Apella may believe it, not I" meaning: "I don't believe drinking is what I do best."]
Johnny Ringo: [pats his gun] Eventus stultorum magister.
["Events are the teachers of fools" meaning: "Fools have to learn by experience"]
Doc Holliday: [gives a Cheshire cat smile] In pace requiescat.
["Rest in peace" meaning: "It's your funeral!"]
Tombstone Marshal Fred White: Come on boys. We don't want any trouble in here. Not in any language.
Doc Holliday: Evidently Mr. Ringo's an educated man. Now I really hate him.

"Charlie really likes his friends
But in his heart he knows that sometimes a dog is as good as any man
Trying to do as we should
That doesn't always rhyme with doing what feels good
But you can sit in the grass; it feels good
You don't even need to think a word
You don't have to worry, don't worry"

Stay with me on this one.
"What machine is it that bears us along so relentlessly? We go rattling thro' another Day, another Year,-- as thro' an empty Town without a Name, in the Midnight...we have but Memories of some Pause at the Pleasure-Spas of our younger Day, the Maidens, the Cards, the Claret,-- we seek to extend our stay, but now a silent Functionary in dark Livery indicates it is time to re-board the Coach, and resume the Journey. Long before the Destination, moreover, shall this Machine come abruptly to a Stop...gather'd dense with Fear, shall we open the Door to confer with the Driver, to discover that there is no Driver,...no Horses,...only the Machine, fading as we stand, and a Prairie of desperate Immensity..."
Thomas Pynchon, Mason & Dixon.
Such an amazing book.

From the murmur and subtlety of suspicion with which we vex one another, give us rest. Make a new beginning, and mingle again the kindred of the nations in the alchemy of love, and with some finer essence of forbearance, temper our minds. -Aristophanes, 400 BCE
