Oh yeah, and as I'm currently in Ottawa, it is indeed Family Day in Canada. Apparently, according to the morning news up here, it's not a national holiday yet, but they're trying to introduce a bill to make it one, since families, "are under so much stress and pressure these days."

What a load of crap, eh?

Family Day in Ontario, that is. It's not in all provinces yet, hence the push for the bill.

This thread is begging for some Bob Dylan:

Oh, what'll you do now, my blue-eyed son?
And, what'll you do now, my darling young one?
I'm a-goin' back out 'fore the rain starts a-fallin',
I'll walk to the depths of the deepest dark forest,
Where the people are many and their hands are all empty,
Where the pellets of poison are flooding their waters,
Where the home in the valley meets the damp dirty prison,
Where the executioner's face is always well hidden,
Where hunger is ugly, where souls are forgotten,
Where black is the color, where none is the number,
And I'll tell it and speak it and think it and breathe it,
And reflect it from the mountain so all souls can see it,
Then I'll stand on the ocean until I start sinkin',
But I'll know my song well before I start singin',
And it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard, it's a hard,
It's a hard rain's a-gonna fall.

Not dribble, but shoot! He said it to a reporter after the game when he made a left handed shot under the basket to win a game for NC State.

How much would you charge to haunt a cave? - Shemp Howard

Give me another drink I can still her face. - Larry Fine

She was bred in old Kentucky
But she’s only a crumb up here
She’s knock-kneed and double-jointed
With a cauliflower ear
Someday we shall be married
And if vegetable get too dear
I’ll cut myself a nice big slice
Of her cauliflower ear
Cause that ain’t rationed...
Curly Howard

CURLY: Wait a minute! Wait a minute! You said you were gonna divide everything equal!

MOE: Oh, ungrateful, eh?

CURLY: Yeah!

MOE: We get a half a slice of ham and a half an egg apiece. You get a whole bone and a whole eggshell, and you’re squawkin’!

CURLY: I’m sorry, Moe. Gee, you fellas are swell to me.

MOE: That’s more like it!

Charles Edward Shackleford (born April 22, 1966 in Kinston, North Carolina) is an American former professional basketball player.

Shackleford played collegiate basketball at North Carolina State University. He was selected by the New Jersey Nets in the 2nd round (32nd overall pick) of the 1988 NBA Draft. He played in six NBA seasons as a forward-center for the Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlotte Hornets. Shackleford's best year as a pro came during the 1989-1990 NBA season when he averaged 8.2 points per game in 70 games for the Nets.

Shackleford is sometimes remembered for telling a reporter after an NC State basketball game that "I can shoot with my left hand, I can shoot with my right hand, I'm amphibious".
