Apparently, only standard/analog viewers saw that. Finally, we get something over the hi-def people!
This made me wonder who is watching porn instead of the Super Bowl.
Some year I'd love to just see what the Hell else is on during the Super Bowl, aside from Lifetime Original Movies. I wonder if there are channels that no one actually watches for those 4 hours.

I found out the year of the Tampa Bay/Oakland Super Bowl, which to me was terribly uninteresting. The answer was Sopranos reruns, small conference college basketball games, and an I Love the 80s marathon.

Combo effort here.
My part's just the posting of this, but GGB found the story, and EasyGoer in an e mail had this to say about the story, which GGB and I got a laugh out of:
"Way to attract the clientele you previously got sued for discriminating against."
Denny's Corp. gave away free Grand Slam breakfasts in an effort to reacquaint customers with its brand and showcase its meals as value-friendly options for cash-conscious consumers.

I love the Grand Slam Breakfast, I would just rather pay the double the going price than go on a day when they are giving them away.

Me neither Bass.
Denny's hash browns have a weird taste, like they've been fried in margarine and I'm not surprised that Glenn loves them

Went to Denny's maybe once ever (and had a fight with a group of people who I was going with). Consider me not over the whole discrimination thing.
There's nothing about Denny's that makes me want to go back there.

I've never had a problem with that- but I did have a problem at a Cracker Barrel and I just ended up going to a Bob Evans' instead.
Don't really like Bob Evans either.
If anyone's been out to the "City of Champions" though, they know that Eat'N Park is THE BEST.
Love that place. Especially at 3:30 am on a Saturday

You guys think that there's any shot that some of the "discrimination" stemmed from the fact that some people acted like assholes when they went in there?

Glenn -
If it were only that simple.
As much as I dislike certain individuals for acting any sort of way in a restaurant (and this covers all color lines), the discrimination lawsuit was placed for the entire company, in multiple locales. this wasn't like not serving black folks because a couple had skipped out on the check around 1AM, this was a huge problem during normal times.
One of my reasons for not going into Denny's was because of real discrimination issues a couple of fam members had at the one that used to be at Andorra mall, and this was during the middle of the morning, not late at night like some would believe. You don't get over that quickly, especially if you've found other avenues to take your business.
The whole Secret Service issue didn't change my mind in any direction - and it only confirmed to most the issue that the chain (not just a handful of local franchises) had.

If by "acting like assholes" you mean "walking into Denny's as a Negroe and waiting for an hour to be seated", I think you may be right

In fact, when I stopped at that Waffle House in Tennessee a while back, I honestly thought we were going to brawl with a trucker or two, but even there I didn't think the service itself was discriminatory.
