"I love how Glenn has every possible link to bigotry known to man on speed dial"
Wrong, by the way, I went looking for that thing Seth posted a little while back about the racist ads, and came up with that, which was even more apropos.

If Dick Cheney's buddy had as good head movement as you do, he wouldn't have a face full of buckshot marks-
Way to sell your boy Seth out too. Deflecting the fire by putting a bullseye on HIS back?

How was he selling me out?
That list of ads I posted a link to wasnt something I did as an example of acceptable adverstising or socially acceptable portrayal of other humans etc.
I think the overall sentiment there was one of shock to some degree, and a historic look back at what was at 1 time "OK"....
And dude, if you click my link above, have your sound on.

How was he selling me out?
Because when Glenn saw me firing at him for that Ebay link, instead of firing back directly, he "put Seth's name in his mouth", and your link up from a while back- effectively "pushing you down and running away" from the gunfire
Pure heroism
BTW news blooper WAS funny

Angela Sutton says, "They think we're lazy and want a free ride," She plays with her children Jahzaire, 2, and Ayaan, 9.
Interesting article about the poor during the economic crisis. Welfare recipient, also on disabilty and food stamps, Angela Sutton can't see why people think she wants a free ride Yo, click it

Nice job by the author to find every bleeding heart sociologist and academic in the mid-atlantic to tell us how the world spins.
If only the rest of us weren't so busy working maybe someday we could become as enlightened as they are

guess you didn't bother reading the article before making that statement, olv. it's full of direct quotes from conservatives:
With "food care," as Limbaugh put it, the "obese" poor "buy Twinkies, Milk Duds, potato chips, six-packs of Bud, then head home to watch the NFL on one of two color TVs and turn off their cell phones, and that's poverty in the U.S." .
they turn off their cell phones? huh? and in attempt to disparage food stamps by giving them an alternate name, why did he choose "food care"? does he think that sounds more free-loading?
then there are these two which go nicely together:
Michael Geer, president of the conservative Pennsylvania Family Institute in Harrisburg: "Taxpayers who have money taken from them end up with a sense of disgust with people receiving the help," he said.
The central issue for many conservatives, Coleman, a former Republican Pennsylvania state representative who now runs Churchill Strategies, a Harrisburg firm that represents conservative causes said, is that churches and not government should be caring for the poor.
so the poor should be count on help from the people who admittedly hate them. got it. on the other hand, giving them help is ok, it's when evil gov't does it that it's a problem. if it comes from beacons of righteousness and divine holiness, then its fine.
and finally:
Pennsylvania State Rep. Garth Everett (R., Lycoming) has tried for a year to pass a law that would have TANF recipients drug-tested and fingerprinted, a practice in some states. "People's wallets are tighter these days, and they don't want funds going to folks with drug problems," he said. Asked to back up his claims, Everett said, "I don't have evidence that people are using it [TANF money] to buy drugs. I do get feedback from a significant part of my constituency that they have the feeling that folks on welfare are using drugs."
easy now, hippies. i admitted i didn't have any actual evidence welfare money was going to buy drugs, or that even it was, did i take into consideration what it would mean to cut addicts and their dependents off from assistance. i just said some guys i know heard that maybe they had a feeling that people on welfare do drugs.

Funny how they wouldn't want a church to help. Isn't that the essence of religion?

no, they do want the church to help, not the gov't. (i fucked up the italics).
it's funny, too, how the guy had to say "churches" instead of the broader and thus more appropriate "charities".

Flesh, I read the whole thing. I don't care what that piece of shit Limbaugh says and would never defend him. Frankly, I don't think anything out of his mouth is worthy of serious consideration.

The bigger issue is the false dichotomy. Either you believe they are mooching and not entitled to any help. Or helping them.

olv, how you feel about limbaugh is besides the point. the person who wrote the article clearly took note of quite a few conservative opinions as well as "bleeding heart academics". both sides were represented, so i'm not sure what your problem with the article is. it just happens that the conservative quotes were kind of deranged.

No, the article presented Limbaugh's over-simplified (putting it mildly) talking points, then countered those with opinions from academic-types.
It does the same thing with the "breeding" guy from South Carolina and an economist - presents their views first, then presents the academic view in such a way as if to suggest the latter is more thought out and supported by proper research. The whole thing is written from a certain point of view.
