I went to my favorite pizza joint the other day and got a large pie with mushrooms and extra cheese and also a cheese steak Stromboli.
The guy rings it up (while I held 25 bucks in my hand) and it came to 33 fkn dollars!
Couldn't believe it so I ask him if he rang it up right and he starts telling me how much it costs now for a bag of flour.
I still didn't believe him (thought I got ripped off) paid anyway and walked out pissed off.
Now it looks like the dude was right.

At first I thought it was because of the price of milk going up so high (what with mozz cheese and what not), but this is somewhat depressing.

That's weird...
That said, $33 is about what I'd pay for Stromboli/Pizza. They charge about $10- $12 for a large pizza most places and charge $2 or so per topping. Rip-off.

It's gotten to the point where you can't get into a pizza place without some sort of coupon.
There's a pizza place near me that charges exuberant prices for pizzas, but they offer coupons. If they didn't have those, I'd never see the inside of the place.

Exuberant prices?
Prices that make the customer exuberant or the establishment exuberant?
And is it rational or irrational exuberance?

Section- ya got hosed man.
It's like when gas started goin up and stations were definately taking liberties cos they had "hey- its goin up per barrel" excuse.
I read the article, but thats absurd- 33 bucks for 1 sandwich and a pie?
Last time we ordered anything like that- the list read:
1 lg pie, three toppings.
10 wings
1 buff chicken sandwich
1 side of 'slaw.
total was 27 bucks and thats a ton more than what you got.
RIPPED
OFF.
Go back today, get a diferent check out guy and i bet the cost isnt 33.
Holmes pocketed about 10 of your bucks for his 12 pack of Corona.

That does seem like a lot. Figure $12 for the pizza, that's a $21 stromboli. Unless you meant "truffles" instead of mushrooms on the pizza

Aren't prices still on menus these days? Seems like something that could have been easily checked if section was suspicious of the foul play you're alleging.

If Section saw a menu board that had those prices- he shoulda walked the frig outta there, and headed up the block to the next joint to get the same order 10 bucks cheaper.

Yeah I felt like I got ripped off. By at least 10 bucks.
I went in yesterday ordered a steak sandwich and a slice of pizza and they charged me $10.50. I asked what was up with that cause it use be around 9 bucks. The girl who rang me up (father owns the place) said that it was due to the rise in the cost of flour. She said that flour has doubled in cost recently.
I've been going in there for years and never had a problem until pizza and stromboli day.
I am starting to think the dude who rang me up entered the stromboli twice or he charged my a shit load for the extra toppings.
Either way I never paid that much for a pizza and a stromboli.

You guys could easily be right, but $12 for a pizza plus $2 per topping on two toppings is $16 right there. Say...$14 or $15 bucks for a large stromboli, with tax, and you're there.
I'm not saying that's cheap, but it's possible even thought they are artificially raising prices.

Unless you ordered that pie and stromboli at Cheerleaders there is no way it should have come to $33. At MOST the pizza would be $18-20, the stromboli $5-7.
You've been had my friend.

I'm saying the pizza should be $12 with the toppings. You can easily get a large around me at 99% of the places for that. Unless it's Pietro's, but that's a restaurant

I checked the menu and it would have $25 from the place that deliver to me, so I guess you guys are right...he got ripped.
Also, I ordered a "Philly Style" cheesesteak in NC a couple weeks ago and it came with lettuce and tomato. Just sayin'

The last time we ordered, we got "specialty" pizza and stromboli and it was over $30, but the regular boli and pizza wouldn't have been that expensive after i checked it out.
