Saw "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly".

True story about a young, playboy-type who becomes completely paralyzed except he can move his left eye, but mentally he is still all there. He was the editor of Elle magazine before he was infirmed. He "writes" a book using a system of blinks that he works out with the girl who takes down his words. He basically memorizes what he wants to say the night before and then dictates it to her, letter by letter. It was very interesting to see what it's like to be inside a man's worthless body while his mind is still alive as ever.

I'm out for that. I feel like throwing up whenever I see someone in that position. I'd rather suffer brain damage or die than be trapped inside a rotting shell with my brain fully aware.

Saw "Stardust" the other day. Entertaining lil' diddy, wasn't a "chick flick" per se, but it had enough to keep me from being bored. Robert DeNiro as a cross-dressing captain, though...

morphine. at ever increasing dosages. no discussion, no hassle, no alternate suggestions. just a drip that i can control with my eyelid.

on another note, saw "i like killing flies", a doc about the real-life soup nazi. actually pretty funny dude.

Watching the Documentary "Confessions of a Superhero".

Let me just say- all these tools are GGB's.

These are "ACTORS" who voluntarily dress as Superman, Wonderwoman, The Hulk, Pirates of the Caribean, there are apparently 4 Spiderman, yes- a Batman- -- - all who work on TIPS alone.

Its an EMBARRASSING look at people who tossed their lives away all seeking legit Hollywood fame via their obsessions (varrying on actor/actress) with their fav. Superhero.

ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

GLENNS.

Tho he may like the Wonder Woman 'give'.

But the Superman give more than makes up for that.

I'm Not There was incredible. Definitely the most creative and successful approach to a usually pedestrian and formulaic genre, the biopic. It is genuinely abstract and bizarre and at times overly artistic, but it really worked for me. While I wouldn't say you have to be a Dylan fan to like the movie, it would help to know the basics of his life and career, otherwise you'll miss a lot of references and the "plot" may be difficult to follow since it jumps around so much. Cate Blanchett was just wow.

i wasn't all that into it, but then, i'm not all that familiar with his music or life. i did appreciate the orginality - as you said, zak, much appreciated approach over the the typical "walk the line" style musical biopic.

Although this film was largely about Dylan and how people react to his celebrity and how he, in turn, reacts to them, I really think you could use Haynes' approach with almost any Joe Shmo and make it very interesting.

Just watched the Joe Strummer documentary "The Future is Unwritten."

All I can say is, any of you who claim to be fans of pop music need to watch this. That includes Seth (The Cure never hHappen without The Clash - pretty sure Fat Rob would say that too) and Fred (Clash were pushing reggae & hip-hop in the late 70's and 1980 when it needed to be pushed.)

Truly heartbreaking that he's dead. Refreshing that he didn't die like a rock star.

Good flick.

ha. yes, i agree i scored over my head, but that is based on more than her looks as well as the fact that i am a useless dirtbag. come to nyc, we can all hang out. i actually have a friend who i'd like to introduce you to. he's a "twink" i guess, ripped, awesome dude, and german!

he's pretty gay though. i don't think he likes sports, but definitely likes shows.

I am all about my Anglo-Saxon brethren but the circumcision thing is up in the air.

But I love Manhattan

he's brooklyn-based, not mannyhanny. he's not native german, but he is pure blood kraut. i think he's just a year out of law school, like 25/26. he lives a few blocks from me. he's a work out freak.

he's almost as funny as you, but like i said, he doesn't like sports, which is kind of gay. he's a nice kid.
