I like Bale as Batman and I liked Keaton, too.

With Bale, I can't tell if he's a really talented actor or just a passable actor who does a great job picking parts/movies.

Just about every movie he appears in is a good flick.

That's the thing about Bale. He's in great movies, but I always leave the movie feeling like I've seen him do the same character each time (again, not counting American Psycho). I believe he's the lead role in Terminator 4. So again, I am certain I am going to like the movie, but I don't think I'll like him.

That article was about a year old...just taking the running joke to an illogical conclusion.

I think the whole Riddler/Joker thing comes down to which version you'd want or expect to see on the big screen. One is the one of comic books and the other is more along the graphic novel line. Not saying the comic books don't/can't carry the dark edge. I'm just thinking of what Frank Miller did with "300" and other story lines, like Batman.

I've seen the Batman movies. I liked the Keaton version best until I saw Batman Begins. BB, in my opinion, did the best job of making Batman "plausible." If I had to choose between the campy Nicholson or a darker edged Joker, I'd take the one that seems to have true/believable motivation to commit crime.

I'm set to see the latest movie. Really, when you think about plunking down $8 or so to watch a blockbuster, it's kinda amazing. May cost hundreds of millions to produce and taken a year or longer and all I have to do is go to an ATM and benefit from mass market appeal.

The thing that set Batman Begins ahead of the others was that it brought a sense of realism and depth not seen in the others.


Dark Knight takes that to a whole new level, sports fans.

It really is one of the best movies of the past 20 yrs.

Seriously.

It will stand up against any flick since 88 easily.

Those who are 'out' for "SUPERHERO" flicks will like this cos the main character BATMAN is like an ornament in the background. HARDLY the star.

Its a flick about the wonder of psychology, IMO.

I agree with Seth. It's more of a crime drama/thriller than a fantasy movie. Very real themes that were never done in a superhero movie before. Great themes, plot, and direction within the movie. And the acting was superb on top of it.

There's no way it can live up to the hype for me at this point.

FD- just go see it. It'll surpass the hype, you honestly wont want it to end.
