I've been watching Idol for probably 3 or 4 years and I can say I honestly only watch it because my wife does. Before we were living together I never watched it and I didn't even watch it the first year we moved in together. I eventually gave in and it's an addictive show, but I don't know why. I don't think the performances are that good and I don't care who wins (yet I still watch). Weird.
I didn't watch last night's Hell's Kitchen yet, but the contest is secondary. It's all about the yelling.
Season 1 did have a couple good chefs, but they found the yelling to be more entertaining and incorporated more "chefs" who would encourage yelling in subsequent seasons.
I love Ramsay, though. I watch every show he does. Hell's Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares (U.S. and BBC), The F Word (BBC)...all great.

Ramsey's great, it is harder to have 7 successful restaurants than to become an NBA player

I saw the disguise ( saw the first few minutes...up until the end of the "signature dish" segment).
I thought he looked like Quentin Tarantino aged 15 years in that getup.
How did no one figure that out?

I AM ALL IN to be a stay at home Dad/House Cleaner/Cockatoo- hell, whatEVER.
ALL IN
And thats not to suggest for a SECOND that any of it's easy or that stay at home Moms/Wives have it good.
I know better.
But Im just sayin- behaving in an office 8 hours a day just doesnt realistically play to my strengths.
Im like a German Shepherd- I need to be kept busy and have plenty to do- and I'll be productive and good.
If not? Meh.

Agree with all of you. Whenever my wife complains about the cost of daycare, I tell her, Just Say The Word and the resignation letter is on the owner's desk in the morning. For some reason, she hasn't taken me up on the offer.

I watch all of Ramsay's shows as well. You got to appreciate a grown man who can call another grown man a "stupid donkey" with a straight face.

Well, that was brief.
Line of the day: "Only 4.6 million people tuned in -- and thousands tuned away as the hour continued."
Replace "hour" with "horror" and it fits better.

Gotta say, I caught VERY LITTLE of Idol Gives Back last nite but did catch the trainwreck that was "Made for TV"- Teri Hatchers "band" doing a cover of Carrie Underwear's "Before he cheats" or whatever its called.
I think honestly, honestly, she may be tone deaf.
Then I was surprised to see Fergie fare VERY well IMO, (most of that review is likely based on shock value- it wasnt hip-hop or cheesy rap) alongside the girls of HEART as she sang with Anne Wilson (Looking her Roberty Best) Barracuda.
Also, Im pretty sure GGB would wanna tag Mylie Cyrus.

Do you choose to watch Idol or are you forced into it?

Is it offensive to say that any guy who watches Idol after the first couple train-wreck episodes is a member of NEAG's club?
