I think at the :55 second mark you can see that in his mind, he's smirking all the way to the bank and loving it

i mean, there is a reason they didn't let Gervais continue on and then completely watered everything down and had him reading off of cards

I think Ricky Gervais' stand up can be funny, but the ones my wife has subjected me to too often kind ramble on with his goofiness and in an accent I, at times, cannot understand.

It's not that all of his jokes are bad or anything, but the material is mostly not good.

I think if anyone else did his act, they'd boo'd off the stage.

And I like him. when I saw his standup on HBO last year, I was shocked I didn't like it. I watched the new one a month or so again and was shocked again. I keep thinking I'm going to like it, but it's just not good, IMO.
