91 is the highest I've noticed today, but I don't really pay close attention to that while watching a game.

totally, that's why they needed last night's win so badly. they are winning games, but beside the pen, this team just doesn't right.
There not much they can about the lineup except wait for jimmy and pray for howard.
but they absolutely need to find a way to bring a starter in here at some point during the season. can't stay competitive with this starting five.

Take Myers out right now. Maybe it will embarrass him into pitching like a man.

Hopefully Myers wife will piss him off again so he will go bezerk and WAKE the fuck UP.
I was never a Myers fan from the get go.
The guy IMO is a fkn head case.
Maybe the Flyers could use him tomorrow night against the Pens.
In all seriousness they should trade him if they can to some clueless MLB GM.

This isn't Phillies related, but did anyone catch the Ryan Braun contract?
He's 24 and signed an 8 year contract, which will make him 32 or 33 years old. The contract was for a measly $45 million.
Am I the only one who thinks his agent is retarded for letting him sign that deal?
Yeah, it's lifetime security, but it seems like he sold himself short. he can still get another big deal when he's 32 or 33, but I think his agent might have cost him tens of millions by signing such a long deal for relatively low money right now.
I mean, David Wright got a 6 year $55 million extension a couple years when he was roughly the same age.

I'd like to see how that contract is structured. You would HAVE to think it's heavily backloaded.

NTF. He's 24 and set for life so I doubt he cares what anyone thinks. And with the way salaries are increasing, by the time he's 31 he'll get another big fat deal if he's healthy and stays on this trajectory.
He could have waited and gotten the 8/150 deal that Teixeira gets next year after his arbitration expires but if someone offers you 45 mil at age 24 I gotta think it's tough to turn down.

Its interesting that so many of the best young players are opting for security instead of the FA payday.
In other news, the Mets lost 3 outta 4 to the Nats with a 1-zip defeat today. They can't fire Willie fast enough on 660 right now.

They really should've fired him at the end of last year. How do you keep your job and you were at the helm of one of the greatest collapses in major league history? ESPECIALLY in New York?
He's GOT to have pics of some high-ranking Mets officials and barn animals.

Knowing Minaya the next manager will be Sandy Alomar Jr.
I wander if he can pull off a Wright for Feliz/Carrasco/Cardenas before he is fired in August.

wondering the same thing about the braun contract, f-d. 24 years old, superstar-type and you sign for about the same dollars as a mid-level pitcher? for eight years?
that contract would have made sense, seriously, about 7 years ago.
forget "financial security". that contract is a joke.

I wonder if that makes him the highest paid Jewish athlete in history.
Just for the hell of it, I looked it up:
According to BR.com, Shawn Green made $100,616,066 in his career.
1993 Toronto Blue Jays $109,000
1994 Toronto Blue Jays $109,000
1995 Toronto Blue Jays $130,000
1996 Toronto Blue Jays $287,500
1997 Toronto Blue Jays $500,000
1998 Toronto Blue Jays $1,475,000
1999 Toronto Blue Jays $3,125,000
2000 Los Angeles Dodgers $9,416,667
2001 Los Angeles Dodgers $12,166,667
2002 Los Angeles Dodgers $13,416,667
2003 Los Angeles Dodgers $15,666,667
2004 Los Angeles Dodgers $16,666,667
2005 Arizona Diamondbacks $7,833,333
2006 Arizona Diamondbacks $10,213,898
2007 New York Mets $9,500,000
I'm waiting for the FOX Graphic in 2015 when he signs his second contract extension showing that he has passed Shawn Green in career earnings.
On a more serious note (in terms of comparison), a lot of young players have been signing contract extensions before they're arb-eligible.
According to Cot's Baseball Contracts, just this year the following players have signed extensions:
Fausto Carmona: 4Y/15M
Troy Tulowitzki: 6Y/31M
Evan Longoria: 6Y/17.5M (2 option yrs, as well)
Chris Young (OF): 5Y/$28M
So Braun got 2 more years and 14M more than the guy he beat out for the ROY last season (Tulo). I still think he could have done a lot better, but I understand why he signed it.
