I recall seein a story on Kevin Mench (pretty sure) and he had a HORRIFICLY BOTCHED Eagles Head logo proudly displayed on his forearm.

I recall being amazed at how bad a pro-athelete's tat was. Looked cheap.

I like art, and I have things that are meaningful to me, but I see no point in permanently painting them on my body. I also think people make way too much of symbolism.

As for tats on others, they've become so passe these days that I only pay attention if I see something really cool and unique. Other than that I don't really care, except for women in porn who get them on their tits or their stomach near their pubes. That's gotta stop.

Best I could do. Kinda tough to see but you can clearly make out that it's terrible.

The best part about that tat is Koy as the holder.

I have ink on my left shoulder and I'd get more, but I just don't feel like it. There's nothing I must have and I'd never get anything even visible with shorts or a t-shirt, so my options are limited.

A lot of my friends went tat crazy at some point. One of them got an Egyptian eye on his neck several years back and he's been getting removed via laser surgery.

I saw a guy at training camp in the summer of 2001 who had the result of the Eagles 2000 season opener in Dallas tattooed on his shoulder.

"Eagles 41 - Dallas 14 Dallas Sucks!"

It's one thing to have your favorite team's logo tattooed on you body. But the result of one game?

Johnson, that's amazing.

I bet KB has a "Phillies 7 Mets 4" tat somewhere on his body.

4 tattoos:

1st - Small dragon in an orange sun. Poorly done & fading. I've been wracking my brain for an idea to cover it. Left bicep.

2nd - First son's name & birthdate in Viking Runes (he's Nordic after all). Right forearm.

3rd - Big Liberty Bell as a symbol of my hometown. It was either that or John Street taking a payoff & Frank Rizzo with a nightstick in his cumberbund. Left calf.

4th - Second sons name & birthdate in same Viking Runes. Right forearm.

I have the artwork for the Lombardi Trophy, if & when the Birds win a SB. I'm just hoping I'm not an 80 year old man getting new ink on my deathbed when it happens.

Have three large (3+ hour) tribal tats on my arm and back. They all kind blend together into one large design. I guess they're meaningful to me because I sat there while someone etched something onto me.

I got them 7 years ago and I'm still very happy that I did. I like them, they're very much covered up in a professional setting, and most of the women I've dated in the past 7 years really dug them. The designs never get "meaningless" because they're abstract to begin with and even if they start to fade it doesn't matter because they're abstract.

Regarding hiring tattooed people ... I've done it and would do it again. I was so crunched to hire people at one point that I was considering opening an office in Brazil to grab some of their programmers. I was okay with a tattoo.

Gotta ask....what's up with the tribal tatts? I mean is it related to Native American heritage? I can't imagine Ube or Seth as tribe members.

I always assumed tribal tats were just a recent trend that people got cause they like the way they look and have little to do with identity or spirituality.

I mean, it is hard for me to understand how that is something "personal" for the recipient particularly if there is no specific affiliation that is recognizable or is tenuous at best.

It isn't my intent to judge, but, I don't get it.

For me, I'll say that I just wanted solid black, and the shape of what I had (Unknowingly drawn out) had many points, curves etc--- the guy said it was 'tribal' and that was the 1st id heard that term.

I am not a member of a tribe, unless you count gamedays in the fall when the birds are at home. That has a tribal feel at times.
