Has anyone bought one of these, not as a joke?

Holy shit, that's great. If they had a "Caucasian-Americans for McCain" bumper sticker I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

sarge,
I think an illustration might be better.
Would cutting the corporate tax rate to 0% increase corporate tax revenue?
Would increasing the corporate tax rate to 100% increase corporate tax revenue?
Somewhere in between is the "sweet spot."
Lowering from 35% should increase it. Lowering it to 10% may not actually increase it, though it may stimulate the economy. If the focus is on tax revenue and not economic stimulation, the tax rate will find a sweet spot . . . theoretically.

Sarge,
Without making this too petty, your original statement said revenues would go up. This is very far from a given. They may. That's all we know. There is large disagreement over at what point the curve (in rate-revenue space) starts bending backwards.
And, yes, sufficed to say I'm familiar with the literature to which you refer. Simply because other countries have rates that are similar and they experienced the phenomenon you mention, implies almost nothing about the United States. The U.S. is an outlier on almost every conceivable measure. Germany, Japan, etc. are not really substitutes for U.S. presence.

I don't think he is getting a lot of African American support
You think it had something to do with him vetoing the MLK holiday in Arizona?

That and the black guy running. I mean, what African American wants to tell their kids they "seriously considered" voting for Obama, but just couldn't get over his lack of experience.

Have you ever noticed when a white speaker is describing someone, if the describee is white- they will say "the guy". But if the describee is black, they make sure that is the first thing they mention- "this blackguy"... Why is that? And why do white people have a problem with it when black people turn around and do the same thing(place an emphasis on African-American)?

I'm not necessarily pointing out anyone here, I'm just saying I notice it all the time- on tv, radio, in conversations, etc.

I'm not sure what you mean. When I'm talking to some black guy and he's referring to a white guy, he usually says "some white guy". The reverse is also true.
I don't know why that is, but I don't have a problem with it.
I just think an "African Americans for McCain" is a hilarious bumper sticker and the reverse all spelled out would be equally hilarious.

I should clarify...I think it's funny on multiple levels, the other being McCain should expect about 30 black votes nationwide (including Condi, McNabb, and Carlton from the FP).

True that there is a sweet spot to be had in all taxation. My main point was meant to be that virtually all evidence shows we are well above that sweet spot in several taxing places: corporate, income, cap gains, etc. Lowering the rates in one area usually has the effect of increasing revenues in another, so even if corp. tax revs. go down, income tax revs. may increase and offset.
The last line of this quote is my favorite.
"You're looking at a poor man who thinks the capital gains tax [cut] is the best thing that could happen to this country, because that's when the work will come back. People say capital gains are for the rich, but I've never been hired by a poor man." - New Jersey painting contractor

Way to show some faith in that black guy (or "that guy", depending on who's making the statement).
You know what...vote for McCain. You have no belief in hope or change anyway.

No different than Glenn, Neag or 736 refusing to put a "I Brake For Al Sharpton" sticker on their vehicles... They KNOW better than to do that in their neighborhood

No reaction to Johnson leaving the VP search team? At what point does Obamination's "bad judgement" excuse run out? This clown has been associated with shady characters virtually his entire life.

BMA,
I try not to criticize a person's internet character, instead focusing on their internet justifications, but enough is enough.
I can only guess about the quality of the refuse you must read to spew such profoundly vapid drivel, time after time.
You don't like Obama: we get it. You have nothing substantive to back up your opinion: fine, that's allowed. Stop trying to convince others with sheer inanity.
We can have a debate about Obomination, but you've got to provide some kindling here.

And, BMA, you weren't concerned about the McCain gaffe of stating, "when the troops come home" isn't the issue? Its casualties? Do you have family in the military that you'd like to see stationed in Iraq even if the body count went down to two a day? That is someone that also has issues that you never seem to talk about.
I agree, the Veep selection comittee that Obama cobbled together seems to leave something to be desired. The latest guy is a real clown.

All id get with a sticker like that is points and laughs.
Sharptons a dope.
You cant say that McCain is in that class of joke.
No, you wouldnt put it on your car cos you know that amongst the community, you'd be veiwed a sellout or not keepin it real.
Sadly, among too many AA's- or "those black guys"-its solely about his tan and not the issues.
THATS why youd fear vandalism - curb feelers ripped off, chrome stripped and sold, tint stickers all peeled off...

Jules, McCain will stumble and stammer as much as any old coot would. I, nor anyone else, will ever confuse him as a man of credibility. He's as sleazy as any politician.
However, he's not nearly as dangerous to this country as Obamination is. Honestly, part of me wants Obamination to win the general election, because the sooner this country hits rock bottom, the sooner it can start over. That clown will ensure the toilet is finally flushed.
