[T]he CSRT process was not structured to yield reliable determinations as to whether the detainees held in Guantanamo were properly detained as enemy combatants. Rather, the Executive put in place a process to legitimize, without substantial corroborated evidence or any meaningful independent review, earlier determinations that were not the product of a thoughtful, deliberative process directed to the ascertainment of truth. The process ensured that panels would rubber-stamp decisions already made rather than applying independent judgment as to whether those decisions were correct. Under the guise of implementing the Supreme Court’s decision in Rasul, the CSRT process completely frustrated it. In my opinion, it is time for Congress to restore the judicial mechanism — habeas corpus — that will both honor our commitment to justice and keep America secure.
— Written statement of Lt. Col. Stephen Abrahams, who served on a CSRT panel in the Office for the Administrative Review of the Detention of Enemy Combatants, before the House Armed Services Committee, July 26, 2007.

Don't be hatin, fagel. They are just simply bridging the gap between older conservatives and liberal hip-hop'ers. Don't be getin' caught up, in no baby mama drama.

While I don't have a problem with Fox News's "baby mama" slight- I have a BIG problem with that hag saying she hoped somebody would shoot Obama and Osama both. That deserved more scrutiny than this "72" from Fox News.

The prison was recently the scene of unrest, with some 400 prisoners staging a hunger strike in May to protest their long detention without trial. Some had been held for as long as two years without trial, and some were being refused the right to appeal very harsh sentences, they said. More than 40 of the prisoners stitched their lips together with needle and thread to demonstrate their determination.
Damn. That's commitment.

I see both positives and negatives for McCain in this article. But it's very interesting either way.

"They have abandoned their responsibilities, acting like boys instead of men. And the foundations of our families are weaker because of it," the Democratic presidential candidate said Sunday at a largely black church in his hometown.
"I resolved many years ago that it was my obligation to break the cycle -- that if I could be anything in life, I would be a good father to my girls."
Wow, he must have took that quote from Bill "how about a fudge pop" Cosby.
Wonder how many black brothers were outraged by his comments today? If they were who FKN cares.
Sadly enough those comments today won't change what has become a pitiful cycle of epidemic proportions in this country.
I for one have no problem with him bringing this issue to the test on Father's Day but while he was at it he should have also included the entire worthless Father's of all "races and creeds" who ignore their must precious ownership, their children. This isn't just about the black daddy who suck ass but a racial worldwide problem.
And speaking from experience there are plenty of worthless, selfish, whore, jerk off, Mom's out there who live by the CUNT and die by the CUNT. They to should be brought into this light as well.
At least he did say something today about this on going issue so I'll give him kudos for that.
And as Murray Povich would say, YOU ARE THE FATHER!
And for the Mother's out there who look upon your children as child support check to pay for your bills and fucked up vices, FUCK YOU!!!

The general election brings out the best in politicians.
McCain, once opposed to offshore drilling, now favors states deciding whether they should do it.
Obama, once declaring in no uncertain terms, that he would have a publicly funded campaign, has now backed out of that pledge.
Also, NAFTA is not so bad, according to Obama.

Letting states decide about offshore drilling seems like the old adage about a non-smoking section in a restaurant being like the piss-free part of the pool.

So Barack Hussein said he will talk to terrorists, but he refuses to have female Muslim supporters in a picture with him?
I thought he was a Great Uniter?

NC, it looks like the link you posted about Obama is bogus...
There is, in no uncertain terms, a misinformation campaign against B. Hussein. I can't even tell you how many things I've read/heard about him that turned out to be outright lies within 24 hours. Yo, click it

Whoops...your article said the same thing (I couldn't pull it up before).
What's the problem with opting out of a taxpayer funded campaign? I must be misunderstanding something here.

FD, you're confused. Obama said he WOULD take public financing (means you can't raise privately) and now he's saying he WON'T.
Your article says the same thing as NC's.

The problem is that he pledged to run with public funding (both candidates get equal funds) and now that he's seen how much money he can raise privately he's breaking that pledge.

What do you B.O. supporters think of a guy who is half Muslim giving the Heisman to a couple Muslim women?
Dino? I know you are a big fan.
Are you shocked? Or do you agree that Muslim women don't deserve a spot in the tent?

Yeah, but does anyone really give a shit? The "public funded" campaign is a taxpayer waste and a scam anyway.
Plus, he never committed in the first place...just said he would pursue that route.

First of all, WTF is "1/2 Muslim"?
2nd, he didn't personally do anything, volunteers did and his campaign has apologized. All campaigns "place" people behind their canditate for TV purposes.
Politics of distraction...

EAG, I'll answer you even though I know you're not looking for one.
First, B.O. didn't make the call (not that I'm aware of). Second, I'm guessing his campaign is...campaigning. Given the aggressive and persistent rumors about his "terrorist ties" and "questionable religious affiliation", they probably didn't want a couple hardcore Muslims directly behind him.
We should really be thinking "intent", IMO. Was his campaign actually bigoted against the Muslims, or where they afraid the image would be used against them in attacks?
My guess is afraid.
