Clearly bullshit.
The best part, though:
OBAMA: John McCain has spent a lot of time talking about trips to Iraq in the last few weeks, but maybe if he spent some time taking trips to the cities and towns that have been hardest hit by this economy (cheers) -- cities in Michigan and Ohio and right here in Minnesota -- he'd understand the kind of change that people are looking fo'.
Is the "fo" at the end how Obama actually said it, or did Rush add that as a subtle way to discredit him in some way?
The way Republicans like Rush have been scared shitless of Obama is hilarious. I love watching it.
I mean, they thought Gore was boring and attacked him, but they have been running an all out war against Obama for months...it's crazy.

He said "for".
But is anybody really surprised?
"Discredit"- that's an interesting way of putting it, FD.

Who cares if he says "Fo" or "four".
The real issue is, if he say's "Ask" or "AX"?

"Small minded" people who want to play that game but aren't honest like Stormfront.org to come right out and say it.

IMS, it isn't whether you care, but it serves the not-so-subtle ploy of triggering the response among readers that he represents an uneducated black man or at least to remind the viewer that he is a black man capable of devolving his refined speech into ebonics without hint or preview.
You DO know what the purpose was.

Exactly...that's a little bit shocking to me.
It's such a stupid little change that I wouldn't want to make too much of it, but sliding a "fo'" into a quote from Obama is a pretty low blow.
I'm sure Rush's listeners (probably 80% racist) eat that shit up.

From the Post on June 4th:
McCain said the details of the joint town halls could be worked out by the two campaigns. But he said the first should take place in at New York's Federal Hall. He said he will be there on June 12th, waiting for Obama.
In the past, Obama has said it was a "great idea." Today, his campaign manager David Plouffe reiterated the campaign's support for such debates in theory.
"As Barack Obama has said before, the idea of joint town halls is appealing and one that would allow a great conversation to take place about the need to change the direction of this country," said Plouffe in a statement. "We would recommend a format that is less structured and lengthier than the McCain campaign suggests, one that more closely resembles the historic debates between Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas. But, having just secured our party's nomination, this is one of the many items we will be addressing in the coming days and look forward to discussing it with the McCain campaign."
Shocker...BMA has it wrong.

I didn't see that response, thanks for the post. So, what's the holdup nce they both appear to agree on them.
If it's such a great idea then can we expect Obamination to be there Thursday?

The Lincoln-Douglas debates were less structured? They were long, formal speeches with alsmot no interaction between candidates. I thought they were remembered because of the content, not the format.
On a related note, has anyone here actually been to an Obama town-hall or speech?

BMA,
Candidates will always avoid the formats that make them look bad and will favor the one that suits them. McCain's not scoring the points you think because it's not a matter of avoiding debates, it's avoiding certain formats.

How should I know? He's only officially had the nomination for a couple days and he hasn't agreed to meet McCain for his debate, under his terms, at the location he's already scheduled to appear, at this time.
Maybe Obama wants more time to prepare, maybe there is a scheduling conflict, maybe he'd like to have some input on the style/terms of the debate, and maybe he'll end up doing it.
I don't think the fact that he didn't commit to do immediately is any kind of indictment.
It's a political ploy by McCain and he's overused it already. They are going to have plenty of debates over the next few months and it seems like they are both into some form of this "town hall" format, so I'm sure it will happen eventually, if not this week.

I hope he wins and runs 2 terms. Then all those fucknuts (when they are no better off at the end of his terms) can realize that he wasn't the answer and the problem is in their OWN house, not the WHITE house.

That's true, Neag. Well, here and the worldwide accessed Google "Define" function, anyway:
Definitions of ignorant on the Web:
uneducated in general; lacking knowledge or sophistication; "an ignorant man"; "nescient of contemporary literature"; "an unlearned group ...
uneducated in the fundamentals of a given art or branch of learning; lacking knowledge of a specific field; "she is ignorant of quantum mechanics"; "he is musically illiterate"
unaware because of a lack of relevant information or knowledge; "he was completely ignorant of the circumstances"; "an unknowledgeable assistant"; "his rudeness was unwitting"
wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn
Ignorance is a lack of knowledge. Ignorance is also the state of being ignorant or uninformed. For example, "Bill lost the debate because he was ignorant of that subject. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignorant
Adj. Not polite, disrespectful, rude. {Informal}

Airbrush a set of T's up Glenn w/ that message & try to sell em in "ROT-KNEE" square. Right alongside the rastafarians with their insence and the pair hawking the homemade Obammy T's and you'll be clubbed like a baby seal.

I've heard it a lot, too. Not so much recently, but when I was in High School and this one kid I lived with in college who thought "ignorant" was the most versatile word in the dictionary.
People were ignorant (rude), movies were ignorant (stupid), etc.
It was infuriating...honestly considered funeralizing his ignant ass.
