What does Watergate have to do with this?
Nothing...they just made a number of campaign finance reform changes after 1974 and no one has opted out in the time between then and now.

I do consider it a broken promise by the way. I am just having a real hard time giving a crap.
Well, that's fine. I never thought, for a second, he'd take all his hard work raising money (especially in light of McCain's shitty earnings) and toss it away.
I really felt like never wanted to commit fully after the Kerry debacle.

Did you gentleman know that B.O. is against racial profiling?
So, in B.O.'s world, a pilot who notices a first class section fell of 20 year old Arabs can not say anything, or risk being punished by no less than 5 years and no greater than 25 years of daily "diversity training".

J. Sydney:
"The military may constitutionally discharge a service member for overt homosexual behavior.
Open homosexuality within the military services presents an intolerable risk to morale, cohesion and discipline."

Dino, it is a valid question. It is his stance on profiling

Dude was going to give up a MASSIVE financial advantage and have to deal with the 527's. By taking the matching funds, he'd be essentially handing over an advantage to McCain in the interest of not being called childish names by McCain's campaign.
Right. So it's not important to keep your word as long as there's a clear advantage to be had for you by not doing so. This is EXACTLY what a Clinton (Hilary or Bill) would do.
Doing the exact same thing as a Clinton would do in the situation is not change to me.

Obama is the first candidate since Watergate to not accept public funds. How is that NOT change again
I think you need to do some research before proclaiming Obama as a "new type" that breaks from candidates, like Kerry and Bush (who both declined in 04, for example).
Hype vs. Reality

DUDE. No one here is proclaiming Obama a "new type."
NO ONE.
Also, my quote you pasted is a true statement, but was also obviously tongue in cheek.

"We've got a new list of loaded words being entered into the campaign lexicon:
- "liar"
- "disturbing"
- "broken promise"
- "broken pledge"
These are emotional words used by women and children. Grown-ups use grown up words."
FD, you do realize Obama has called others a liar. Example: January 21, 2008 speech about Hillary. Evidently, supposed grown-ups still use those words too. Just sayin.
For the record, I can't stand any of the candidates, but I really did NOT want a Clinton in office again. With each passing election, our choices get worse and worse and the country gets into deeper sh**.

Much was made about B.O.'s "mistake" when he said he visited "all 57 states"
Well wouldn't you know who has 57 states?
Not Heinz.
But the Organization of Islamic States.

Then he was a pussy when he said it.
I seriously can't remember the last time I heard an adult say "you broke a promise!", "You broke a pledge", or "your broken promise disturbs me!".
I've heard queefs that sound more masculine.
These words were very, very specifically chosen to appeal to the emotional side of women, the democratic voters McCain is trying to sway his way. If they were trying to appeal to men, they would have used keywords like "character", "honor", etc. the game is ALWAYS on.
Listening to NC repeat them like they struck a cord in his heart was HILARIOUS.
One thing that's been really entertaining/interesting is seeing how people are manipulated by the different movements and strategic wording on issues out there. I'm continually surprised and amazed at how smart some of the people in these campaigns are and how powerful the language and phrasing can be.

With this revelation, I agree. He's not fit to be President.
Secretary of State...MAYBE. Not President.
I can say with all honestly that I've been against the consumption of white babies for some time and I've been trying to raise awareness through my web site pleasestopeatingwhitebabiesforfuckssake.org.
Shameful.
