Don't despair. Just accept the premise that some of us attempt to educate ourselves on topics by seeking differing opinions from multiple sources with differing views, then disseminating the information gleaned and using it to form our own personal views.

Barry is a coward on this gun issue and, shockingly, puts the blame on a spokesman for his previous comments about the D.C. handgun ban. I hope an AP article gets the almighty FB's approval:

The Democrat's campaign said a spokesman made an "inartful" statement when he said in November that Obama believed the D.C. law was constitutional. But Obama himself did not correct a debate moderator who repeated the position in February.

"You said in Idaho recently, I'm quoting here, 'I have no intention of taking away folks' guns.' But you support the D.C. handgun ban and you've said that it's constitutional," said the moderator, Leon Harris of Washington television station WJLA. Obama nodded as Harris spoke and said: "Right, right."

"How can you reconcile those two different positions?" Harris asked.

Obama answered that the United States has conflicting traditions of gun ownership and street violence that results from illegal handgun use. "So, there is nothing wrong, I think, with a community saying we are going to take those illegal handguns off the streets," Obama said.

The Obama campaign argued that Obama was simply acknowledging the question by saying "right."

In other instances, Obama refused to articulate a position when asked whether he thought the D.C. ban was constitutional.

The campaign would not answer directly Thursday when asked whether the candidate agreed with the court that the D.C. ban was unconstitutional, simply pointing back to his statement.

BMA, please, please, please, keep pushing that Presidential Seal scandal. I think that is a highly productive activity for conservatives to be highlighting. I think it is the EXACT type of issue that is really going to land some swing votes in November. Its already altered the entire political landscape. In fact, McCain should probably tap into his modest treasury to start getting this issue in front of more people.

wow, BMA, schocking revelations. obama believes in the right to own guns in general, but thought the DC ban on handguns in an urban enviroment was constitutional (he's a harvard law alumni, by the way).

when asked about it subsequentely, he referred back to that statement.

I can't speak for Ob-ma on his gun stance...I don't know what his goals are there.

The facts show that when handguns are removed from cities, murders decrease. Just the way it is. I wish the courts would acknoledge that and run with it.

The idea that everyone, regardless of stipulation, has the right to be armed is silly. Now we're just deciding which regulations are constitutional, I guess.

Sorry, I do not mean to turn this discussion on a tangent but I have to laugh at Obama's latest campaign ad. It shows him, with his white mother, white grandparents, and he mentions his "Kansas Roots". All that and African-Americans are like, "YEAH, MAN, WE MIGHT GET ONE OF OURS IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!". NTFF. Just seems funny, sorry, not really intended as an Obama slam.

Well, it someone approaches you from 15 yards away, lead pipe brandished and demanding your iPod, to attack you, you'll probably be safe.

I know people like you aren't the problem, but your gun is more likely to be stolen from you than the chance you'd ever get to use it in self defense.
