McCain makes a bold move...I wanna see where his supporters are now!
McCain: 'I will veto every single beer'
(CNN) – John McCain issued a promise Tuesday that may cause a bit of unrest with a broad swath of voters:
He'll veto every single beer?
In a slip of the tongue while railing against excessive earmarks at the National Small Business Summit in Washington, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee inadvertently pledged to veto the popular alcoholic beverage. (Watch McCain's comments)
I will use the veto as needed. I will veto every single beer — bill with earmarks," he said, as rumblings from the crowd could be heard. "And every single bill that we have come across my desk I will make them famous. I will veto them, you will know their names."
Obama, for the record, is pro-beer.

Here's a good link for the comparisons between the ever developing economic policies of the two candidates. I'll be the first to admit that some of the stuff B. Hussein Obamination wants is flat out frightening and/or stupid (such as the additional $50 billion in additional stimulus checks...WTF will that do?), but it's interesting how they are settling in.
If you could mold the two into one policy, I think they'd have something, but both guys have a couple odd, off-putting wants in there. click here

"Obama thinks the government should play a more active role in leveling the field for lower income workers."
"Obama proposes creating a $10 billion fund to help prevent foreclosures and eliminating some taxes and fees for families who must sell their homes. He would also provide tax credits to 10 million middle class homeowners who struggle with mortgage costs."

I'm only using middle names from this point forward.
B. Hussein vs. J. Sydney.
We've got to choose between a terrorist and a woman. Great.
Sub-question: Is McCain some kind of Australian nationalist? Does he have ties to the crown? Maybe he's a descendant from the original prison state? Can we really trust a drunken Irish/Australian/British nationalist, with ties to both the IRA AND their sworn enemies/oppressors?
When is J. Sydney McCantbetrusted going to answer these reasonable concerns about his checkered past??!?!??

I agree that those are the kinds of ideas that make me extremely nervous.
McCain has a few of his own that give me a similar feeling, though.

Great...more secrets. When will J Sydney start getting out of his own way?
McCain Foods Limited, a privately owned company established in 1957 by the brothers Harrison and Wallace McCain in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada, is the world's largest producer of french fries and other oven-ready frozen foods.
Why all the secrecy and privacy regarding ownership? Probably because he's in bed with the French.

f-d,
Are close advisors back in play?
Regarding the article:
McCain thinks the best way to deal with the deficit is by scaling back government spending. He proposes a one-year freeze on discretionary spending to assess which programs should stay and which should go. He has also said he would demand that Congress eliminate earmarks.
I don’t think that’s the biggest budget issue. The discretionary spending is a problem, but when we talk about the fixed spending (Social Security, Medicare), that’s where the bulk of the budget is and where the looming crisis exists. I’d like a closer look at each candidate’s Social Security plan.
Obama has said he wants to cut earmarks to levels no greater than they were in 2001 and reinstate so-called pay-as-you-go rules, under which lawmakers cannot pass spending measures or tax cuts with paying for them by making cuts to other programs or raising an equal amount of money.
The “pay as you go” is a great idea, but hasn’t happened in years for a number of political reasons. I think it will be tough for either candidate – if they want to – to rescind Bush’s earmark executive order. He ordered the government not to spend the earmarks that were never voted on in Congress. Some earmarks get votes when a bill is passed. Others are slipped in after the vote.
The two presidential candidates also offer different solutions for dealing with unemployment. Obama thinks the government should help create jobs.
McCain thinks corporate taxes should be cut so businesses have more money to hire new workers.
The government’s track record for creating jobs isn’t impressive. Even if created, they need to be sustained. That’s where a lot of the efforts fall flat, in addition to the cost of creating a job.
Cutting the corporate rate is a good idea, but I think greater reform needs to happen to simplify the tax codes for small businesses and speed up depreciation costs. Also, small businesses have trouble competing for talented workers because of healthcare costs. Some states layer additional mandated coverage on insurance carriers that drives up all costs for the sake of a few. If small businesses could buy cheaper, no frills, insurance from other states, they could reduce their disadvantage.
McCain also pushes the idea of suspending the federal gas tax for the summer, but Obama has called that plan a gimmick.
It is. What’s his plan?

It's absolutely a gimmick. As far as Obama's plan, I'd imagine he's filed it under "energy policy" since gas taxes don't have anything to go with the economy.
