Looks like Obama and McCain are still in a dead heat. Whoever gets off their ass and addresses energy in a real way will win this election. I'm kinda baffled by the fact that neither has decided to say much about it at this point, to be honest. I've said it before and I'll say it again...I think Obama is still the underdog here. A ton of his "supporters" don't actually show up at the polls and the Republicans are simply better at running campaigns than than Democrats. If McCain is able to remove his head from his ass and beat the "cheap gas" drum, he'll win.
The item at the end about B. Hussein's patriatism cracks me up, though. 40% of Republicans believe Obama "lacks patriatism". Still with the fuckin' flag pin, huh?
Yo, click it

Your post is, frankly, pathetic. I mean, do I jjustify your rant by acknowledging your anti Ayers stuff? I mean, Obama was like 5 when the bombs were planted, so he must have been involved.
Dino,
Obama courted Ayers' assistance in his rise through Chicago politics. Ayers hosted a fundraiser for Obama in his house, even.
Ayers is not a 60s radical who burned a flag. He's an unrepentant terrorist who bombed buildings in our country and regrets not bombing more. It would even be different if Ayers admitted he was wrong and said his actions were deplorable. He didn't. Obama knew this and chose to serve on a board with this guy - not as a five year old - but as a grown man.
"Pathetic" accurately describes constantly finding ways to defend the indefensible.

Ironic that he called it a symbol for substitute patriotism and yet wearing it now isn't giving him credibility. Maybe it runs deeper than he thinks.

Yeah...because questioning a guy's patriatism because he doesn't wear a broach is worthy of a "solid argument".

He's "too cool" to respect Old Glory, gentleman.
No flag pin, hands on his genitals during the anthem, and on and on and on

I would still guess that "Lacks Patriotism" is more of a preselected, canned response for a large feeling of uneasiness about Obama, from perhaps adopting too conciliatory of a Foreign Policy to running the economy on more "socialist" principles (on the part of those that responded with that answer).

I'm sure it's everything, GGB. The name, the "terrorist appeaser" talk, the flag pin, his hands on his genitals during the star spangled banner, etc.
I just think it's funny that nearly half of republican voters believe he's running to become the commander in chief of a country he dislikes.

honestly, the anti-patriotism thing really has little to do with obama. it is simply how the republican machine operates EVERY election year against the democratic candidate.
i believe last election the american public somehow was convinced that kerry was unpatriotic because he was from massachusetts and had french ancestors, while W, because he wore a cowboy hat and couldn't read, was.
business as usual.

And the "Democratic Machine" convinces their 12% Lock that the Big Bad Republicans are out to keep them down (meanwhile they're doing a hell of a good job themselves) and that that they (The Dems) are their Great Hope. It's called "Politics", f4f.

glenn, yes, all politics are slimy, but the dems don't use fear as a tool anywhere near the way the elephants do. nor do they character-assassinate with the same zeal. hopefully with rove out of the picture, we will see a little less of this.

When you say "democrats" in this sense, are you talking about black democrats?

They don't use fear much at all, honestly. I'm not saying they take some moral high ground...they just don't seem to have the backbone to run that kind of campaign. The Republicans (or at leats the guard that's been running things for some time) are great at it and don't mind using any tool at their disposal to get the job done.

No, f-d, I am talking about all Democrats with regard to my first statement.
They punch their ticket with 12% of the population, much of it in urban areas and in key states, under the guise that the Republicans are to be, yes, FEARED, and yet the their results locally, regionally, and Nationally (when they were in) don't show any gains whatsoever, matter of fact, anecdotally speaking they show regression (how many cities are controlled locally by Dems?).
Fear is used by both sides. "Fear" of losing your cushy, overpaid, union job which a monkey could do with huge benefit packages to OMIGOSH, OVERSEAS COMPETITION!!!! We'll protect you from that!! (Meanwhile it was Clinton that passed NAFTA).
I am just saying that fear is used by both sides, just differently.
Don't even get me started on "Hope".

GGB, I'm having trouble following. I don't know any democrats who "fear" the Republicans or use any fear tactics against them.
What you get most often from Democrats is talk of a vast right wing conspiricy and the evils of corporate America running the country, but both have been fairly accurate recently.
If you're talking about black democrats, it makes more sense.

Of course I am talking about Black Democrats you numskull. What do you think the 12% refers to? But what I mean by that is that the Dems fully play into that historical "fear" that's built into their allegiance.
