Anyway, can we stop talking about John Fucking Kerry? He was a horrible candidate and would have lost even if he had manned a plane and shot every Charlie in the jungle and ended the war.

Yeah, Kerry sucked.
I believe he was railroaded a bit, but the fact is he had the personality of a dead moth.

he may have been a horrible candidate, but in the 2004 election, he was only the second most horrible candidate, and it wasnt even close.
and its a relevant topic since we were discussing the issue of which party uses fear and slander more often, viciously, and effectively. again, the record shows, it isn't even close.

it's politics, but its republican politics, specifically. and the reason is simple: you have a party that really benefits and works for only a small minority of wealthy americans. so by necessity, they have to create as much fear, doubt and misinformation as possible to get people to vote against their best interests. fake "wedge" issues like gay marriage, abortion, and "family values" also help level the playing field.

Like Barkley said, poor people have been voting Democrat for 50 years and are still poor. Both parties are full of scumbags.

By the way, there was a great video on the Glenn Beck show last night that pieced together both parties promising reduction of dependence on foreign oil for the last 30 years, with the same types of solutions these clowns are promising now. It was really something to see if you're still a party fanboy and actually have any faith in this government to ever do anything to help the working class citizens.

Flesh, there is a strong wing of the Republican party that pushes fear as a means of securing Israel, their own "Homeland Security" so to speak.

However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion.

I am not being obtuse. I am saying there is a strong wing of the Republican party to whom the Security and Support of Israel is a HUGE part of their personal platform. If the Republicans choose to use fear to gain votes (which I only marginally believe they do, or do any worse than the Dems, they just choose different issues), then by association the Jewish wing is advocating it.

Evangelists believe that Israel will be the battleground of the Armageddon between East and West which will precipitate the second coming of Christ, so hard-core Christians have as much, if not more (in their minds) than Jews do in lobbying for Israel's protection.

Ok, you guys are being dense at this point.
I am saying that the party that Flesh is ripping for using "Fear" is strongly supported by Jews that support it for it's support and position on Israel and it's security, a position Flesh has defended in the past.

That's complete Bullshit, SZR. Complete bullshit.
Christians support Israel out of a sense of duty to a people with common values. But that's neither here nor there, the fact is there are plenty of deep-pocketed Jews supporting Republicans due to their position on the Defense of Israel.

Oh. Crap. You must be right then, and that must be a common held belief amongst many US Christians and the reason they support Israel.
My bad.

Notice I said "evangelists" and "hard-core Christians" and nothing about "many" or the "majority" of US Christians.
Who do you think has more influence in the republican party as it stands now? Evangelists or Jews?
