Finally, drawing comparisons between Hagee and Wright just doesn't wash to those without a "dog in the fight" between McCain and Obama. Obama sat in the church and listened for 20 years to the lunatic ramblings of an ideologue. The only time he actually heard the sermons, apparently, is when he left the church for the campaign trail. McCain's cozying to Hagee was a temporary one and one that he jettisoned.

I honestly forgot about Hageee/the fact that McCain had TWO crazy spiritual advisors.

What do you consider mainstream media? Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh reach tens tens upon tens of millions of people, very week and have been running full-out, organized smear campaigns against him for months.

i watch olberman occasionally. one of my favorite political commenators, which may not be saying much.

First MSNBC is the Obama Channel. They are so deep in the tank, it's embarrassing.

I can mostly agree with that. CNN gives fair play to everyone and is easily the least biased news organization out there, in my mind. MSNBC is slanted toward Obama.

Fox News is, of course, the most watched and most heinous news corporation in the free world. The personalities on Fox News and the radio are the ones who start most of this shit.

You know they are the ones who came up with the media "messiah theory" you parroted, right?

You can say "no one takes them seriously", but when they say it loud enough and long enough without anyone disputing it, it seeps into the general consciousness. That's how YOU, who claim to think they're dolts, end up with "drive-by" ideas like the "media" is propping up Obama in some way.

That's the whole problem I have with this...I'm here simply trying to dispute the stuff that's complete nonsense and try to discuss some of the real issues.

However, as I said in the post above, those guys are the ones who work their demographic (which is massive) and slowly bleed myths into the general populous.

TV Time (someone mentioned MSNBC and I think you conceded that point so I wont beat that horse, but MAN that was my HR cos Im subjected to that nightly for a block of time and its like he's taken over the signal from a truck out back in an alley).

Put it this way, I never heard anyone say he was getting a pass in the media before the radio starting telling everyone that's what was happening.

4 Things:

1. That same study says McCain had only 42% positive coverage.

2. That study said Obama was most likely to receive positive feedback from Fox News and Radio.

3. The study points out that he had the same positive coverage as Hillary and also points out it became more and more negative as the campaign wore on.

4. What was the negative? My biggest beef has not been criticism of Obama. It's been insane criticism. If 6 people says generally positive things about him and 4 say "he might be a Muslim", that's my problem.

No. PUBLICITY- you were innundated with Jessica Simpsons mug on mag covers etc a couple yrs ago, she did some TV stuff as a guest and then gets her own MTV show.
The media decides Pop Appeal, this is as old as the hills. Not NEWS only- but the means of TV and Print to create an appeal, justifiable or not.
