Fox News is reporting on this now as well. Also, according to an article linked on Drudge, the LA Times has censored their bloggers from talking about it.

Wait, F_B, you don't think that, if true, this is a pretty serious blight on Edwards' character?

GGB:
Of course it's a serious allegation and will remove any potential cabinet positions for him. (Personally, Edwards has had these allegations surrounding him for a while. He hasn't done anything effective to quell them. There's probably a good chance the story is true, but I'll wait to hear it from someone, anyone, other than the NE. And, another organization reporting the NE story does not count. Repeating does not equal verifying.)

Question: why does it seem like every politician cheats? Is it that the percentage of politicians actually cheating is no higher than the general population, but due to their high profile all politicians who cheat get caught? Or, are they really dogs?

So what you're saying is that if you ever had a momentary lapse of judgement or are a "swinger" that you aren't competent to hold a public office and should have fingers pointed in your direction?

Maybe they ought to impeach the guy for getting a little "strange".
Let's make a federal case out of it!

"And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto Him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto Him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the Law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest Thou?"
"This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him."
"But Jesus stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He heard them not. So when they continued asking Him, He lifted up Himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground."
"And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst."

You can still change your mind.
I mean, what happens when it leaks that Obama picks his nose in private? And will you feel the same when it comes out that Barack once called his principal "Bitch" under his breath when he was in high school? What about those rumors of rampant steroid use?

Fred
Think he will make a good PREZ.
Hopefully he can bring the country together and the rest of the world will stop fkn hating us and our leaders.
Was impressed with Obama's trip to Europa. Had those German assholes mesmerized. Europe is certainly now an economic force to be reckoned with. Next world super power perhaps. Scary shit with Germany, France and Italy calling the shots over there. Holy Roman Empire resurrected again.
McCain’s service record is beyond approach but unfortunately he is just too damn old. Don't think he would be able to handle being PREZ for 4 years. Probably die in office. Hardest job in the world and ages folks quicker than being the coach of the Eagles.
Bush did so much damage to our country during the last 8 years it is going to take awhile to right the ship. Worst PREZ in our lifetime for sure.
Whoever wins will certainly have their hands full. Tough job ahead.

The Edwards bastard-child-with-campaign-worker story has been around for at least a month or two, if not longer, and it's kind of absurd that it's taken the National Enquirer to essentially prove it.
As a liberal, I'll tell you that I believe this is pretty damning to his character. Having an affair is one thing, having an affair and having a bastard child is another, having an affair and having a bastard child while your wife is dealing with cancer is a new low, and doing all of the above in a year in which you ran for president and are involved in someone else's campaign is the height of stupidity.
I guess this doesn't totally kill his shot at A.G. in a presumable Edwards administration because that would likely be announced post-election, but I think this is an example of a guy with horrible judgment, and I wouldn't want a tool like this in a position of power.
I never thought he was anything but a pretty face and a flashy smile. If you can't even win your own state, you need some serious political guidance.
See ya, Edwards. Hope you and Jesse Jackson enjoy your trip to the Land of Irrelevancy.

Section, I'm glad you're seeing the light.
Ironically, before you wrote that, I was walking back from lunch, looking at a headline about Obama's trip and thinking, "I'll bet 40% of this country thinks it's great that the rest of the world, and specifically Europe, hates the United States. These people probably view Obama's trip as the ultimate sign of weakness."
Is there anyone out there who is really proud of the way America is reviled by the rest of the world?
