Any Obama supporters see this in his economic plan before? Who signed off on this or was this an off-the-cuff thing? How will he dig himself out of this, because I'm sure Congress won't be pleased about voting on this, especially if they are held to some pay-go policy.

I think you might (i.e. definitely) be making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Could be, but I was also the guy who said Obama needed to ditch Johnson over his Fannie Mae connections months before the scandal hit big. Was also one of the guys who said Obama needed to get on top of the Rev Wright thing and ditch him. I was also the guy that said Obama needed to go to Iraq when he was still formulating policy having never been in Afghanistan and not visited Iraq in two years.

Each time, I think folks said I was making mountains from molehills and then Obama did exactly what I thought he needed to do.

Any chance you're available to be Obama's VP?

Basically, they were all mole hills with extremely easy solutions and no real consequences.

That's what your saying.

What is your point? You scoured the web and found a British paper that linked Obama & Clooney. Why?

You made a REALLY valid point with Obama's stupid ass tax plan, why go back to this horseshit?

Settle down, fagel.

I found that article on Drudge and actually find it more amusing than anything. For as clueless as I think Barry is, I don't think he is seriously taking any practical policy advice from anyone in the Hollywood left.

f-d,
What I'm saying is that I have a keen ear for spotting the problems. I view situations like this objectively and do a better job than most in separating my bias from the best course of action.

A lot of people think they can view situations objectively, but really have difficulty divorcing their personal affections from the situation and the best resolution.

Ask yourself this. If Obama had followed the "Nothing to see here" advice many here pushed, would his campaign have more or less traction?

f-d, this mis-step will rob his campaign of steam for at least a week as he tries to find someway to spin out of the corner he painted himself into. I don't know how he's going to talk himself out, but I'd suggest floating a "VP choice is imminent" line to get the press onto something else quickly.

NC, I couldn't disagree more. I'm without bias in this situation and you've passionately hated the guy from the very beginning.

I think that your ability to find problems with the Obama campaign is very finely tuned...because you're constantly looking for problems with the Obama campaign.

I don't think this latest "issue" is an issue at all. I mean, Foxnews.com hasn't even run anything on it yet and what's the opposition going to say..."we need to tax retired people"?

You can disagree with the idea or even think it's dumb, but it's a non-issue...saying we should give retired people tax breaks, even if it's a dumb idea, isn't going to get the guy burned at the stake.

Okay, f-d, maybe you're right.

Passionately hated the guy? f-d, it's fair to say I never voted for the guy. It's fair to say I think he's inexperienced and committing a lot of unforced errors, but "hating?" No need for hyperbole. He draws fire because he's the nominee. Sydney draws fire, as well, but we rarely discuss him here.

On a related note, I said it was a bad idea for Obama not to go to the town hall meeting with servicemen (Monday, Aug. 11). Some here said Obama would be insane to get in front of the men he intends to lead.

At the time, Obama's camp said this:

"Senator Obama strongly supports America’s veterans and military families and has worked hard on their behalf in the Senate,” said Phillip Carter, director of Mr. Obama’s veterans effort and an Iraq war veteran. “While we unfortunately had a previously scheduled commitment on the date proposed, Senator Obama looks forward to continuing the dialogue he’s been having throughout the country with veterans on how we can better serve our men and women in uniform as they serve us."

So, what was Obama doing that could not be moved to another date?

You've been complaining and nitpicking him for a few months, so while I'm not accusing you of setting him on fire in the street, I'm not ready to say you're taking an unbiased approach to his campaign.

As for Sydney, I just posted that media report last week that showed Obama is getting considerably more negative press than him. He draws fire (everyone will in an election), but he draws less fire.

Taliban fighters with assault rifles shredded a U.S. aid group's SUV with dozens of bullets Wednesday, killing three Western women and their Afghan driver amid an escalating militant onslaught against humanitarian workers in Afghanistan.

what's tragically funny is that the killers no doubt had their asses in the air praying to allah within hours of the attack, without a trace of irony. i guess allah demands the blood of the innocent.

For the record, Hussein is a Constitutional expert, so even if he did say Thomas was "inexperienced", I'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
