You yourself conceded they're 'slanted towards Obama".
OK, so, we agree then.
Absolutely. MSNBC doesn't have any viewers, though (other than the people loyal to it). I think it averages lower rating than "Headline News".
I agree they are slanted toward Obama, but I don't think they're shaping opinions around the world because not enough people watch them.

Regarding this media coverage, there is no doubt AT ALL that MSNBC is in the tank for the guy. Fox has been overzealous in repeatedly hammering the negative stuff.
CNN is mostly fair, however I do think their coverage of Obamination isn't as rah rah as it was just 2 months ago.

MSNBC has Olberman and Matthews as their 2 biggest names and 2 big Obama supporters, so it's not surprising.
I definitely agree that CNN is the best source of news out there.

Here's what I'm talking about, though, when you compare a heavy hitter from MSNBC to a heavy hitter on Fox:
First, Chris Matthews: link

Hardly Neag- I'm still gonna be "tryin' to catch 'im" when he screw up in the bleeds.
I'm just saying, I pretty much agreed with everything he said here- he was a (may I quote you 736?) "paragon of objectivity". Unlike you Neag

NTFF!
People of the concourse, I'm trying to bring a message of unity and common sense, so I denounce everything Fred is about to say.
Also, some hard hitting journalism from Fox. Is it a terrorist gesture? You decide. Fact of the matter is these are the subtle, absurd attacks that drive me nuts...not questions on policy:

F-D, that shit is gonna exist on both sides for the rest of the Campaign. Get used to it. This thread is proving that this will be the Youtube election. And neither side will be immune, you just get more incensed because (I think?) this particular one is targeting your boy? Was FoxNews the only media source to question the gesture or cover it, and were they blatantly one-sided?
Asking, not gonna dig around for a bunch of a coverage of an insignificant event in June.

And further, you can't really link a clip from Olberman's show that does not show the full story from Fox, they only showed a snippet. For all I know Fox went on to denounce anyone that made the assertion that attributing the gesture to terrorism was insane.

Haha, and for some objective commentary on the subject they bring in a guest from "Air America". C'mon, F-D, you gotta be better than that...for all we know the FoxPOA only commented on the fact that others had commented on it, and basically dismissed it herself as Campaign Overkill.

Glenn, just the fact that they even brought it up is ridiculous. It's not newsworthy. Some of that stuff should stay where it belongs- on the intranets

As I said, F_B, this WILL be the Youtube election. Get used to it, and the fact that media on both sides will cover such things probably speaks as much to who is consuming it as it does any particular agenda.

Who they bring on to discuss it isn't as important as what was said. As far as the full Fox News clip, they didn't come to he conclusion that Obama was a Hezbollah operative.
But that's really the problem...who would even bring it up? The point of their "tease" was to "raise the question" and let their listeners decide. If you don't fight that stuff, it starts to stick and they are continually slipping stuff that that in there. it's below the belt, it's wrong, and the left (maybe because they are pussies) don't don't it.
Actually, the funniest part of the full Fox clip was ED Hill talking about the fist bump as if it was some kind of completely unknown gesture that "surely would spark all kinds of speculation" given how foreign it was. I think her exact quote was "whatever happened to a pat on the back".

You can definitely say Youtube will be casting a pretty critical eye on the Politicians (both of whom have been caught in some double-talk already). I just think that a news organization should be held to a higher standard than suggesting (at any point and in any way) that Obama may be a trojan horse, terrorist, non-U.S. citizen, etc.
They aren't even "reporting" "news" they are trying to find explosive (crazy) theories on the world wide webs and just "throwing them out them" without endorsing them. It's sick.

f-d,

I linked Olberman because they discussed it on Olberman...didn't have anything to do with him. Had to do with Fox "just throwing the report out there" that some people wondered if Obama's fist bump was a Hezbollah-style fist jab.
Don't take your eye off the ball here.
Plus, Olberman is accountable, even is he sometimes sees things that aren't there. He doesn't lie or make up reports even though he's a flaming liberal.
