Uber, please elaborate on "them".
I had said before that I was basically referring to the BMA-crowd. Not that I have any particular distaste for him, but I don't believe that he's really sat down and thought things through.
BMA represents, in my opinion, an increasingly large slice of the population. Maybe he and people like him really have sat down and thought about their beliefs (I am not referring to religion here. Not at all). The evidence points to the idea that they have not.

GGB, I'm interested that you describe Medicare as "entitlements". I think I find that different than MedicAid and different then welfare or unemployment benefits. It really accounts for 2/3 of health care expenditure. For me, that means its 2/3 of my income indirectly.
There was a deficit reduction act that went into effect, but actually cost too many centers the ability to continue functioning. Medicare is also the standard against which many insurers will determine reimbursement schedules. Which means that while 2/3 of that income of most physicians is determined by that rate, it also influences the rate of the remaining 1/3 of income. As it stands, the "paying" consumer of healthcare in part buoys the expenses of those who get that care gratis (whether the provider wants to do it or not).
I realize I'm not going into WHY it costs so much, since that is multi-factorial.

Well, if you type into Google "Define: Entitlements", one of your results will look like this, Jules:
"Government benefits such as Social Security and Medicare that must be paid to anyone meeting specific eligibility requirements."
That's why I referred to it as such.

Everybody blaming the President for anything dealing with money is barking up the wrong tree.
CONGRESS per the US Constitution has the "TAX AND SPEND" Authority..
Everyone needs to go back and take U.S. Government again......
Obama or McCain don't mean sh*t... The Majority Whips in both Houses on the other hand..
Anyone voting based on Party Lines Democrat or Republican REALLY needs to step back and look at what BOTH Parties have done to USURP the Constitution from Amnesty to Zanax...
This is where WE as the American Voters are "drones" we allow our news coverage to help us "overlook" the OBVIOUS with the superfluous..
This VOTER is voting against EVERY INCUMBENT on the ballot from Senator to Janitor...

If Republican Incumbent I am voting Democraft and vice versa.. Could you imagine what would happen if every two term and longer congressmen and senator were voted out office?
The lobbyist would have to go back to square one. The Committees would change.
How can you as voters continue to support your "elected" representatives when the vote themselves a pay raise every year and YOUR paycheck is not growing at the same rate?
The only "lunatic" (Per all the major News Networks) is Ron Paul and he is preaching a change that would wipe out everything that is status quo today either Democrat and Republican which would put all these "analysts" preaching to us on TV out of JOBS!
Its a win win for everyone! With the exception of those who "corrupted" our society in the first place..
I believe John Quincy Adams said something along the lines of "A little revolution every now and then is needed in every society to keep Government for the Peoople!"

In case you were wondering, here's the English translation of the song from "McCain's Biggest Supporter"
Gasolina - Daddy Yankee
Da - ddy Yan- kee !
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
Get ready, because whats coming is to give it to her, (hard!
Mamita, I know that you aren't going to take away (hard!)
What I like is that you let yourself get taken away (hard!)
every weekend she goes out to have fun (hard!)
my cat doesn't stop hanging out because
She likes gasoline (give me more gasoline!)
How she loves gasoline (give me more gasoline!) 2x
The turns on the turbine
she doesn't discriminate
She doesn't even miss a fancy dress dinner
She gets dressed up even to go to the corner store
She wears things so well that even shadow favors her
assasin, she dominates me
she hangs out in cars, motorcycles, and limousines,
she fills her tank with adrenaline,
when she listen to reggaeton in the kitchen
She likes gasoline (give me more gasoline!)
How she loves gasoline (give me more gasoline!) 2x
(me!) Here I'm one of the best
Don't leave me
On the track they call us "the killers"
You make anyone fall in love
when you dance to the rhythm of the drums
this goes out to cats (cats = babes) of all colors
for the older ones, for the younger ones,
for those who are more foxy (foxy = player) that the hunters
for the women who never turn off their engines
You and I have something coming
you owe me something and you know it
with me, she loses herself,
she doesn't surrender explanations to anyone 2x
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
shake it mambo so that my cat (cat = babe) can turn on the engine,
Get ready, because whats coming is to give it to her, (hard!

Well said in your last 2 posts, BI. Everyone inside the beltway should be voted out, sans Ron Paul. Term limits for every including the janitors and coffee fetchers.
I love this # of houses stuff regarding McCain. Since when is being successful a crime in this country? Gotta love the class warfare and it's no surprise to see FB reciting the rally cries.
Would you really want an old bum with no money running the country? Anyone who is older and successful should have a good bit of investments tied up in real estate, if not they are stupid.

Also BI, I assume by the content of your posts that you visit Ron Paul's site, campaignforliberty.com?
It's a really good site and they give good breakdowns on bills that potentially may come to the floor for a vote.

Shockingly, BMA misses the point.
It's not a crime to be so successful that you own several houses.
However, when you own so many houses that you don't even know how many houses you own, you're either out-of-touch with the plight of the common man, or you're really, really forgetful. Neither is a quality I want in a president.

Um...Obama's net worth is roughly $1 million. McCain's worth somewhere in the $30-40 million range (possibly more).
I'm not saying it's bad to be rich, but the idea that Obama is an elitist and McCain is salt of the earth is a Republican fabrication.

So they are a lower degree of Millionaire? My comment had nothing to do with Money or elitism, just that they will bring nothing more to the table than the McCains when it comes to helping out "the common man".

Who the hell said McCain is "salt of the earth"?
Is he supposed to come out at the convention to Dusty Rhodes "Common Man" theme song or something?
They both have more money that the average guy and with McCain being an old politician it's not some shocking revelation this his net worth is a lot higher than Obama's. Pretty much every senator comes out with a higher net worth than they go in with.

I'm simply saying there's a fairly big difference between Obama's reported net worth of between $500K and $1.1 million is a whole lot different than $30+ million. That, PLUS his wife is worth another $100+ million.
There's a big difference between roughly $1 million in net worth at age 47 worth about a million.
Neither of them is really going to relate to the idea of milk and gas causing financial stress on a household, but Obama isn't in the stratosphere and protective bubble a person like McCain is.
McCain has fuck you money.

I think if one campaign (McCain's) isn't going to paint Obama with the "elitist" brush, they are essentially saying they ARE NOT elitist and that's a tough sell to me when McCain is worth roughly 130 times what the "elitist" is.
