“He wasn’t sticking nobody up because he was playing manhunt with all the other kids,” 20-year-old Nadia Rodney said.

So he was guilty after all.

"All the other kids" were playing "Manhunt", after 1am? At least they're learning Life Skills, I suppose.

To be fair, I am guilty of the same thing after 1AM on the weekends

Playing by the rules

Gameplanning
Execution

And this kid got executed, what a shame.

The Associated Press
Article Last Updated: 08/28/2008 09:24:30 AM EDT

PHILADELPHIA—The list of "persistently dangerous schools" in Pennsylvania has nearly doubled. And all the schools are in Philadelphia.
The state Department of Education's latest list includes 20 schools, up from 12 the previous school year.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, the designation is based on the number of serious incidents, such as assaults, that result in arrests for more than one year.

District and state officials say Philadelphia schools aren't necessarily more dangerous. They say schools are just doing a better job of reporting violence.

Parents United for Public Education head Helen Gym thinks there is another reason. She says security is suffering because there are fewer adults in classrooms.

Urban Passports, Glenn are more correctly known as a "Ghetto Pass". To get one you need some "street cred".

Unfortunately, since you are in favor of "snitching" I'm afraid yours will have to be DENIED.

You wouldn't want to go there anyway, it gets awfully scary at night- some people even "fear for their lives"

And at the stroke of 11, I can flip it on Action News to confirm that in reponse to F_B's "some even fear for their lives", a proper response is "As well they should".

Worst part of the psycho hammer story is everyone who stood around and did nothing. Over 10 people witness the attack, everyone stands by and watches.

While reading this story, I honestly did think, "What would I do?"

I started to wonder if my decisions would be based upon the size and craziness of the attacker, especially considering that no one would be willing to help.

What do you think you would do in this situation? Instinctively, I think I'd try to tackle him, but I also think there a certain size/insanity threshhold that could be crossed that would altar any decision.

At the very least, I can't comprehend why no one ran for help.

Yes, studies show that the guy would have been better off if there was only one or two people around rather than 10.

How was this guy not more seriously hurt with someone beating on him with a hammer for an extended period of time?

I was wondering that same exact thing. The guy took himself to the hospital. Either he's a badass, or the attacker was Gerry Clooney.
