“He wasn’t sticking nobody up because he was playing manhunt with all the other kids,” 20-year-old Nadia Rodney said.

So he was guilty after all.

"All the other kids" were playing "Manhunt", after 1am? At least they're learning Life Skills, I suppose.

The Associated Press
Article Last Updated: 08/28/2008 09:24:30 AM EDT

PHILADELPHIA—The list of "persistently dangerous schools" in Pennsylvania has nearly doubled. And all the schools are in Philadelphia.
The state Department of Education's latest list includes 20 schools, up from 12 the previous school year.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, the designation is based on the number of serious incidents, such as assaults, that result in arrests for more than one year.

District and state officials say Philadelphia schools aren't necessarily more dangerous. They say schools are just doing a better job of reporting violence.

Parents United for Public Education head Helen Gym thinks there is another reason. She says security is suffering because there are fewer adults in classrooms.
