Just wanna wish everyone on here a Happy 4th.

Be safe and don't drink and drive unless you want to kill yourself and a family of five.

This is the time of year I miss my Dad the most.

He had the best 4th of July parties ever.

My brothers-in-laws try to make it a worthy event but they don't cut the mustard.

Enjoy folks!

Yes- Happy Independence Day to all!

Just wish we could get "independent" of foreign entanglements and foreign oil...

I fondly remember one of the last times me and my old high school buddies were together, we headed down to the BF bridge on the 4th to throw 1/4 sticks off the overpass and shake things up- we also had some killer Roman candle wars dodging in and out off traffic...

Ah the memories

Happy 4th people. Let's be thankful the guys hanging 'round the table in the 1770's-80's were pretty fucking smart.

Happy Friday.

Me and the boys are going to have a parade this afternoon just to scare the Iraqis in the next complex.

fagel-

When you have your parade, make sure you have your "indiscriminate Arab-doll on fire and hanging-in-effigy on a stick" to go along with your American flag and "U.S.A.!" chants

A Dubya/Cheney/Sadaam tee shirt also is a nice touch-

I went to a great party yesterday. After hearing me talk about barbecue for so long, the guy bought a smoker, but his uses propane. He made some good pulled pork and brisket, and some friends and I brought a couple of pounds of bacon to make Pig Candy.

I loaded his smoker up with the bacon, then I came back about 45 minutes later to spread the brown sugar and cayenne pepper mixture on the bacon. About 10 minutes later, someone noticed flames shooting out of the top of the smoker. He opened the door and the whole inside of the smoker was blazing with fire. Thankfully, he was smart enough to quickly shut off and disconnect the propane or the whole apartment building would have achieved lift-off.

He started hosing it down, and I told him to stop because it was a grease fire. Someone else backed me up on this because the fire would burn itself out without any fuel, but two guys were adamant that he immediately hose the entire thing down, and he followed their bad advice, which effectively destroyed the entire smoker. Somehow, the grease didn't spread, which is what usually happens when you hit it with water, but hosing down the fire wrecked the non-stick interior and the paint job on the exterior.

Someone took a picture of the thing on fire, and he called the company to complain about having a faulty device, threatening to post this picture in every online review of the smoker.

They told him a new smoker will arrive on his doorstep on Tuesday.

America is truly a great place.
