Rich Kotite Coaching Mistake

Need help in remembering a call RK made concerning declining a penalty. The situation was something like the Eagles had 3rd and very long (like 25 yards) and almost got the first down. However, there was for example a 10 yard penalty on the defense. So now it would either be 3rd and 15 or 4th and 5(if the play stood and the penalty was declined). RK declined the penalty and called a TO. When the Eagles came out of the TO they punted? I remember the fans were livid. Does anyone remember this? Please comment.

he had a chart that told him what to do in every situation, re; penalties.

it was raining and he said later his chart was wet. the ink ran and confused him.

hence the time out and then the punt.

brutal.

think i have that correct.

raweagle - do you have shit for brains for 1. starting a ridiculously lame and useless football thread and 2. for starting it in the fucking concourse?

take like one second to see how the site works before you post your bullshit.

Coming from a man that does not know a CAPITAL letter when he sees one, Raw, take that as a compliment.

And Seth responded in earnest, so his (grinning) is disingenuous.

ggb- you can figure out the no caps thing on your own, but the grinning was due to how things have changed around here.

i used to be the guy who'd come in and trash people who did stupid crap.

now, i'll actually reply and laugh when others maintain the 'level hazing' rituals.

capeche?

"it was raining and he said later his chart was wet. the ink ran and confused him. hence the time out and then the punt."

you're meshing two stories....the infamous "the chart was wet" comment was in reference to the chart that NFL teams use in deciding when to go for two or one on the PAT. the birds chose the wrong option late in a game (might have been against Dallas) and when Richie the K was asked after the game why he did what he did, he responded in that stupid NY accent of his by saying, "Da chart...it was wet...we couldn't read the chart." Idiot.

It's amazing to think that Harry Gamble had the choice between Kotite & Jeff Fisher, and being Eagles fans we get Ritchie.
