Ok, so I'm stuck in Brazil until November, so I need to know what my options are for viewing Eagles games, or any NFL games for that matter. The hotel does have ESPN, so at least I may get the MNF games.
Anyone tried the online NFL thing I saw from googling? Looks like the reviews I saw said it was horrible. Fagelpoke, what do you do? No idea too crazy. Muito obrigado!

I'm sorry, but did you just say, "I'm stuck in Brazil," as in we should pity you for being forced to sip caipirhinas on the beach while the greatest asses in the world walk by wearing little more than thongs made of dental floss?!?!?
If you have any desire to be a poorly-compensated Director of Marketing at a small media company in New York while DJing Eagles games on Sundays at a cheesesteak joint/sports bar, I'd be happy to trade lives with you. Screw the NFL. I'd take the Brazilian chicks in thongs in a heartbeat.

Sarge, your answer is Sopcast
www.sopcast.com
Completely illegal but gets the job done. It's gotten me through many an NFL season during my time abroad.
Now, re: the NFL online package - I bought it once, just to be sure I would see a game a couple years back (I think it was TO's first game in Philly as a Cowboy or something like that). Not only did it work well, but once the games are over you can stream any of em at your leisure for the following 7 - 10 days. Of course, the only issue is cost - why pay $30/week for something you can get for free?

Let's clear up some obvious misconceptions/misunderstandings
A. I'm in Campinas, not Rio. There is no beach around here. Nearest beach is 200 km away. It is very much an industrial town, and no women walk around in thongs all day long.
B. I'm working 10 hours/day teaching engineering students, which of course again means virtually no women. In my class of 50 students, there are 4 women.
C. Seeing how people drive here makes me think renting a car could be the riskiest endeavour I would ever undertake, so I probably won't go to the beach.
D. I've changed hotel rooms three times trying to find one that doesn't have an incredibly noisy air conditioner or a bed which is about as comfortable as a slab o' granite.
So feel free to envy me if you like, but it's really not the big party you might think. All I'm looking for now is some comforts of home. Even had to bring my own peanut butter, since they no not of this food.
Thanks for the sopcast tip. I'll give it a shot.

Sarge, here's what I have;
- On my satelite package, I get the 4 Nationally broadcast games. The times suck (2:30 am for the Sunday & Monday night games), but I just tape them and watch later.
- Birds games. I have NO computer skills. Friends have referred to me as a Luddite. But, I have several computer geek types on my team and they kindly download and burn the games to dvd for me. I used to use Pontel, but the NFL decided to pull the plug on them in favor of their own on-line package. The big problem is avoiding the Nosebleeds and DN/Inky on line until I've seen the game.

Hahah. I was in Sao Paolo, Brazil last fall for a little while and it wasn't all I imagined. The traffic was insane, the poverty was crushing in places, and the food was only okay.
The women were in really, really good shape, though. It was the exact opposite of going home to Pennsylvania in that respect.

They definitely are.
I think the reason I have that opinion is because, whenever I go back to the Lehigh Valley, I always seem to stop at the City View Diner shortly after I arrive. City View tends to have a lot of people that need to open both of the double doors in order to get into the restaurant.

Debating obesity quotients in Lehigh Valley diners is akin to debating the bangability of Phyllis Diller vs. Barbara Bush. Neither is a viable, healthy option.
